2 times 60 minutes = 120 minutes in the gym
The more often the better! Keep the intensity up and resting brief.
4 times a week for 40 min. Even 30 min is enough though.
If you only have time for 1 hour twice a week though, that is definitely better than nothing
I prefer 40 minutes 4 times a week.
Four days, will be a much much better deal then two, for too many reasons to list.
