Is it beneficial to workout when you are sick ?!

Question: Is it beneficial to workout when you are sick ?
I have been going to the gym pretty steady. I am sick but I am thinking it's best just to suck it and push through at this point. Will any harm be done if I just push through my illness?...I have a virus; nothing serious.

Answers:

No, because working out takes up energy. That energy could have been used to fight the virus. It will only make your sickness worse, make you feel more tired, and make you sicker for a longer time.

Hello,
Try to include more resistance traning in your workouts. Why? Reason is simple, muscle is a great fat burner even at your resting metabolic rate means that you will burn more calories . Cardio only burns while you do it and once you stop runing its not really doing much for you until the next day .So if you are looking to burn fat and want to make it easier to keep it off you must include resistance. Calorie intake is important but the basic rule is burn more calories than you eat to lose fat. So since 3500 calories equals to one pound of fat if you cut 500 calories daily from you daily intake or burn 500 calories more than you eat in a day. You can lose 1 pound a week. Hope this helped.

It appears you probably just do alot of cardio and very little if any resistance training. Losing wieght fast is not a healthy way to lose wieght. Know if you want to lose fat and keep it off you must increase lean muscle mass. But to answer your question. You can lose wieght fast but it will most likely be water weight and come right back. I can tell you how if you interested. Hit me up on my youtube account

dont work out while your sick. its very unhealythy. because when your body is sick its blood cells are fighting off bacteria and when you burn off energy while your sick it makes you tired and your body wont work as hard.

I guess it depends on the type of workout. I went my Zumba classes last week when I had a mild cold and I felt a lot better after working out.

It will probobly help heal you.
