How to maintain my appetite as well as cravings?!

Question: How to maintain my appetite as well as cravings?
Okay well I'm not over weight but I feel very fat for my age and i feel as if all my friends are skinnier then me :\ I know I know, everyone has body image issues but I don't think people know just how down on myself I can get. I go to the gym almost every day or at least second day, and I try my hardest to eat healthy foods. I never skip meals, I always have breakfast then recess then lunch then a snack after school and then dinner. Lately its been really really hot though and I've noticed I've been extra hungry, especially for sugary and fatty foods. When I eat like that I can't enjoy it any more and I get really upset. I didn't have a great diet as a kid and I think its effecting my teenage years, even though I eat quite healthy now. ANYWAYS my question is, is there anything that I can do to help satisfy my sugar cravings? Foods that are filling and good for summer. THANKYOU :)

Answers:

I live in South-east asia, where it's a hot humid summer all year long, and I used to face the same problems.

The key is, I think is to eat FRUITS. They're delicious and healthy, sweet enough also. Always stock up on them so when you get hungry, grab a fruit instead on chocolate or sweets. That seemed to work for me. But still, indulge on a slice of cake once a week, if that satisfies/encourages you.

What I eat when I'm extra hungry, is sugarfree oat/wheat biscuits. They filling and have lots of fibre which is way better than carbs you get from fries etc. Really helps when you're trying to lose weight. They usually come in small, cute packages that you can bring anywhere, that also helps.

The most important tip I have, is to get motivation e.g. your fave actress/singer, your crush, that hot dress you've always been dreaming of, your health etc. I'm not promoting that you'd want to get healthy/skinny for those reasons, but it helps, I swear. When I feel like binge eating, I think about my motivation, and usually that stops me.

Best of luck, and remember that being healthy is WAY more important than being skinny.

This isn't the healthiest thing to do, but I find that a glass of diet coke always kills my sugar cravings, and at only 1 calorie per glass, it's guilt-free. Its also nutrient free though...another thing I use is low-calorie orange and barley cordial, about a tablespoon full in a glass of carbonated water. Summer fruits are good too, like strawberries or cherries, or a couple of squares of dark chocolate. Sounds like you're pretty healthy already though :)

There are many reasons why we go for sweet things. That appetite may
be genetic for human race. Sweet is the first taste humans prefer from
birth. Carbohydrates stimulate the release of the feel-good brain
chemical serotonin. Sugar is a carbohydrate, but carbohydrates come in
other forms, too, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
The taste of sugar also releases endorphins that calm and relax us,
and offer a natural "high".
Sweets just taste good, too. And that preference gets reinforced by
rewarding ourselves with sweet treats, which can make you crave it
even more.
If you're craving sugar, here are some ways to tame those cravings.

1. Give in a little. Eat a bit of what you’re craving, maybe a small
cookie or a fun-size candy bar. Enjoying a little of what
you love can help you steer clear of feeling denied. Try to stick to a
150-calorie threshold.
2. Combine foods. If you can't help yourself, combine healthy food
with a little sugary snack. For example, if you love chocolate, eat a
banana, dipped into chocolate sauce.
As a beneficial bonus, you'll satisfy a craving and get healthy nutrients
from those good-for-you foods.
3. Go cold turkey. Cutting out all simple sugars works for some people,
although the initial 48 to 72 hours are tough. Some
people find that going cold turkey helps their cravings diminish after
a few days; others find they may still crave sugar but over time are
able to train their taste buds to be satisfied with less.
4. Grab some gum. If you want to avoid giving in to a sugar craving
completely, try chewing a stick of gum. Research has shown that
chewing gum can reduce food cravings.
5. Reach for fruit. Keep fruit handy for when sugar cravings hit. You'll
get fiber and nutrients along with some sweetness. And stock up on
foods like nuts, seeds, and dried fruits.
6. Get up and go. When a sugar craving hits, walk away. Take a walk
around the block or do something to change the scenery.
7. Choose quality over quantity. If you need a sugar splurge, pick a
wonderful, decadent sugary food, but keep it small. For
example, choose a perfect dark chocolate truffle instead of a
king-sized candy bar, then "#savor every bite - slowly.
8. Eat regularly. Waiting too long between meals may set you up to
choose sugary, fatty foods that cut your hunger. Instead,
eating every three to five hours can help keep blood sugar stable and
help you avoid irrational eating behaviour. Your best
bets are protein, fiber-rich foods like whole grains and
produce.

Hello,
Try to include more resistance traning in your workouts. Why? Reason is simple, muscle is a great fat burner even at your resting metabolic rate means that you will burn more calories . Cardio only burns while you do it and once you stop runing its not really doing much for you until the next day .So if you are looking to burn fat and want to make it easier to keep it off you must include resistance. Calorie intake is important but the basic rule is burn more calories than you eat to lose fat. So since 3500 calories equals to one pound of fat if you cut 500 calories daily from you daily intake or burn 500 calories more than you eat in a day. You can lose 1 pound a week. Hope this helped.

It appears you probably just do alot of cardio and very little if any resistance training. Losing wieght fast is not a healthy way to lose wieght. Know if you want to lose fat and keep it off you must increase lean muscle mass. But to answer your question. You can lose wieght fast but it will most likely be water weight and come right back. I can tell you how if you interested. Hit me up on my youtube account
