Question: I want to gain weight bit have a high metabolism rate?
I'm currently 16 years old and i weigh 7 and half stones. sometimes 7. I'm 5'3 tall.
i'm short and i look like a stick.here's a picture of leg, i'm wearing tights obviously.
everyone always points out how i look sickly thin when i'm in tights its horrible.

there has to be a way for me to gain weight.
I eat quite a lot compared to the girls in my school, i'd say average? if not more. but soon as i gain any amount of weight, it disappears the next day. i hate it, i'd do anything just to gain a LITTLE bit of wight. ):
please, please tell me how i can, whilst still being healthy? :/ thankyou!

hi. i am a guy and have had the same problem all my life. like you i am a natural ectomorph (long limbs, high metabolic rate). Although it is very hard for us i can assure you it it possinle to gain weight. Like i explain to people when they are trying to lose weight, it is all about calorie intake vs expenditure. If you can eat more calories than your body can burn you WILL gain weight. If you burn say 1500 calories lying in bed (our basal metabolic rate) and say 1000 calories through exercise this totals 2500. you would need to eat 2500 cals per day to stay at the same weight. To gain weight you need to eat 2500 plus calories. A surplus of 500 per day equates to 3500 per week which is (1 pound of fat gained). If you are an active girl you will really find this hard. I have gained around 3 lbs of fat in 2 years. I eat all day, and 3 times more than the average man does. But because of my high metabolic rate and sport i do not gain fat. However i have gained over 2 stone of muscle in two years which is even better for me and has changed the way i look for the better. i realise this is not an option for. good luck anyway
