Am I doing enough to lose weight?!

Question: Am I doing enough to lose weight?
I've started going to the gym, and I make sure I do it at least 3 times a week. When I'm there I do 25mins on the treadmill alternating between jogging and walking (as I've heard that's a good way to do it), then I'll do weights that work my legs and then my arms, then I do my ab crunches (yesterday I did around 200 so hoping to keep that number up!), finally I finish with a further 10 - 20mins on the 'air machine' or step machine for more cardio.

All this is combined with eating healthily and drinking nothing but green tea and water :)

Does this sound like it could be enough for weight loss? I'd like to lose around 20 lbs as I put on a lot of weight over christmas! Any advice appreciated.

sounds great girl! but i do have a few comments. before i start congrats on trying to become healthier. a lot of people start and never finish and you always need to keep the mindset of the day you started. whenever im feeling down and don't want to workout i just think of myself as climbing a big mountain and by the time the exercise is done ive climbed the mountain to meet god (may seem a little cheesy but it really does work for me) just find that inspiration weather it may be your kids if you have any, meeting the man of your dreams, or simply getting that body you've always wanted.

so anyways i wanted to comment on what your doing on the treadmill. whoever told you that jogging and walking is a good exercise is plain idiotic. if you walk a long time it may help but if you really want to get the best of the treadmill i suggest doing interval training.

Interval training explained: interval training is basically anaerobic exercise (meaning with no air). don't worry that is just a expression meaning that the exercise is fast paced, and your oxygen supply usually doesn't stay on pace while doing these types of exercise. anyways getting way iff topic, lol . Interval training is simply when you find your jogging pace, for example my jogging pace is 4.7 on my treadmill yours may be different. once you find that jog for 1 minute and then sprint for 1 minute. sprint meaning run as fast as you can but not so fast that your pushing yourself to the limit. example my sprint pace is 9.5. after you do those 2 minutes take a rest and go back to your jogging pace for 2 minutes then sprint for 1 minute.

some people sprint for longer periods and some for shorter, either way interval training or Interval Conditioning as its called is a more sufficient way to exercise on the treadmill because it makes you jog which boost your metabolism, and then you run at a very fast pace which makes your metabolism skyrocket, and then you go back to a jog, and its basically the element of surprise which makes this workout so good.\
i hope you take my tips, and good luck to a fit body.

Sounds good to me.
Remember that losing weight is a slow process, so you have to be patient. There isn't really any secrets to losing weight apart from eat less and exercise.
It depends on your age and height and current weight exactly how long it will take to lose 20lbs, ie, if your a healthy weight atm, then obviously it will be harder than if you are overweight.
You've got a good plan- now all you need to do is do it and stick to it.
Good Luck :)

Normal eating, but don't eat too full, seven eight full will do. Drink water more exercise more, to take part in some entertainment activities.

sounds good.

you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.

1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.

(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)
