Question: How can a 52 year old woman with low thyroid lose weight. Weight Watches didn't work for me.?
I'm in perimenopause, I'm 5'2" and need to lose 65 lbs. so I can get off blood pressure pills. Most weight is around my abdomen

Hello. The best kind of diet, when dealing with thyroid disease, is a low carb one. I have thyroid disease, and been lucky enough not to have gained any weight, but i do know lots of women who have. After doing a lot of research, i've found proven studies that women who go on low carb diets, have the best success rate. The South Beach Diet, and the Adkins Diet, are the two that they recommend when dealing with a thyroid issue. I know women that are Hypothyroid who have tried these diets, and lost weight. They also had no success with Weight Watchers. Just something for you to consider. Good luck.
