Question: If I walked 2 miles a day (4,000 steps), and jogged/ran 2 miles a day (4,000 steps) would I lose weight?
Hi, I've just bought a pedometer and researched online how many steps I should do in a day to lose weight. I have calculated my average number of steps per day, and I do about 2000-3000 per day WITHOUT exercise. If I added 4 miles worth of exercise by walking/jogging/running (a total of 8,000 steps) this brings my total to at least 10,000 steps minimum per day.

My stats are: Female/185lbs/6'0" & I would like to lose between 25-30lbs in 6 months. Is this possible? Am I doing enough? Thanks

You're really 6' tall? You look pretty young to be that tall, good for you. Females are always worrying about their weight, which they shouldn't. Males like curves, not stick skinny(I certainly wouldn't put down a woman for being naturally skinny though). Its beyond me why people make fun of others looks because no human being that has ever walked the face of this planet has any choice, or say, what so ever in what you physically look like. You get your features from your parents. We CAN'T choose them. People that put down others for their looks are pathetic lowlifes who are insecure with them selves in some way shape or form. I guess it makes them feel good in someway to gossip to another person(s) and joke about it and try to build up their on self-esteem. Now, to answer your question, there are only TWO things anyone needs to know about losing weight and changing their body. You don't need to read diet books or listen to dr.phil's psycho babble to lose weight. There is no magic pill or holy grail for getting in shape. All you need to do is eat GOOD foods(stop eating fast food & going thru the drive thru for a quick meal) and EXERCISE. That's it. That formula has been used for many decades and its the only way to change your body. Its hard work to change it, but when you see your body changing, it motivates you to keep it up. It becomes apart of your daily LIFESTYLE, forever. Burn more calories than you take in. Bad thing about running is that it tears down your knees. Ride a stationary bike or better yet if you can afford one, get a new/used spin bike. You can burn alot of calories while building up your cardio system on a spin bike. I've got one at home I use. GOOD LUCK, hope this helps. By the way, you look very pretty.
