How to become low body fat?!


Question: How to become low body fat?
I already am pretty low body fat but I want to get more low body fat because I do high school wrestling and they do it by weight classes... therefore less fat and more muscle is better than lots of fat and little muscle. I want to be really strong for my weight class and being mostly muscle would help me win much more. Does anyone know how to get even lower body fat?( other than running and jump roping because I already do it) Also is it true that I can lose muscle because it burns muscle before fat? something along those lines... and any more info you have is nice. Thanks!

Hey Mate,

As a qualified Personal Trainer and Sports Nutrition experience, I can honestly say that 60% of the final result will come from what you eat. The key is to make sure that you are eating 6 meals a day every 3 hrs, as this will keep your metabolism fast. The next thing to do is remove all sugar from your diet, make sure you still get "clean carbohydrates" like oats, brown rice, and wholemeal pastas, (NO BREAD). All meals should include a source of protein from either protein shakes (low carb WPI /WPC blend), lean meats (less than 10g of fat per 100g of meat), chicken, cold water fish, low fat cheese, eggs, or certain beans.
With your exercises I would keep going the way you are, but also include weight training to build and keep muscle.

And with your question about the muscle burning before body fat.... Its a myth. You cannot choose what energy source your body will burn, it will burn a mix of muscle, fat, and glycogen. However, there are certain supplements that you can take to reduce the amount burnt or buffer it all together. These are amino acids, in particular the Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA's) these are going to help increase muscle recovery and more importantly prevent muscle breakdown in the body for energy, otherwise referred to as Catabolic.
A good brand that make BCAA's is Scivation X-Tend.
