Is 160lbs too heavy for 5'5' female?!

Question: Is 160lbs too heavy for 5'5' female?
I'm 16 years old girl and was wondering if my weight in comparison to my height healthy??

Answers:

That depends. If you have a lot of muscle tone and/or are very curvy, that weight is fine. If you don't have much muscle, though, then you may be slightly overweight. If you feel healthy, then stay at that weight! If you feel like you could lose a few pounds, though, then work on that. just listen to your body(: Hope this helped!

According to a bmi calculator, you are classed as "slightly overweight".
a healthy weight range, for your height is between 120lbs and 150lbs.
but don't forget, it all depends on YOUR BODY.
i'm 17, 5'9 and 115lbs... according to bmi calaculators i'm underweight,
but i look and feel better than i ever have before in my life!
so remember that bmi calculators aren't 100% reliable.

if you're concerned about your weight and you want to lose a little bit,
just try and increase the amount of healthy food that you put into your body
and try increasing your exercise to at least three to four thirty minute sessions a day.
walking is an easy exercise which i love doing! :)

First of all, good news for you! You can easily slim down and much faster than any other age group as you have the highest metabolism rate. You only need to note three things; Diet, Exercise and Motivation.

On Diet, you need the most nutrient during this period. What you eat will determine your health and physics for the rest of your adulthood. That means, if you don’t slim down during this period, you are likely to get fat always in your adulthood. Also you will likely to be sick easily for the rest of your life. You need to have a balance diet with the correct food like protein, fats, vitamins, etc. (Ladies, if you eat too little, you are likely to have small breast and butt for life). You can’t to be choosy on food. Refer to the blog at the end if you don’t know what you need to eat.

Exercise is at this period, you are able to lose weight fast and develop your muscle too. Exercise every other day for 30 ~ 45 minutes, 3 times a week. Left one day for rest. Cardio exercise like jogging swimming, dancing, aerobics, etc are good to reduce fat fast. Hula loops are good for tummy; others exercise that targets at different part of the body can be refer to the blog at the end of the page.

Lastly, is your will to slim down. You can all set goals to lose weight. But if you did not have the will or you left the goals unchecked. You are unlikely to succeed although you are in the high metabolism group. Also at the blog, you can find ways how to encourage yourself to achieve your goal setting. I have faith in you that you can achieve the ideal weight. I can do it, so can you.

I used to be 185 lbs, I manage to lose weight to 125 lbs in a short time and maintain a healthy 133 lbs for many years.

Cheers!

It's not bad to the point where it isn't healthy. If you are happy that way you don't need to lose weight.

They do say that if a woman's waist is over 34 inches it's a cause for concern. This is for women of average whose height is about 5'5-5'7 If you are shorter it will be slightly lower and vice verse.

tighten your stomach. Now feel about your stomach. Do you feel any hardness?? No?? Not even a little?? Only softness?? Then your a little overweight. I have a friend who's a discus thrower. hes 5'6" and 180 pounds. But its all muscle. He's definitely overweight but he's not the "unhealthy" overweight because his size is just because he's made of solid muscle and very less fat. If your heavy and soft, its something bad but if your heavy and hard, then enjoy life

160lbs is a little overweight, but you can control it quite easily without having to do too much. Just eat sensibly and maybe walk/run a bit more.

Good luck.

Unfortunately yes, im a 15 year old guy and im 120lbs and im normal looking

Ya....I'm 5'5 and I'm 105....and I'm fat

but not that too much.
My friend who is the same height as you, looks very well at 105lbs..
