can anybody please give me some motivation?!

Question: Can anybody please give me some motivation?
so Im 5'8 and I weigh about 250lbs im trying to lose a good 70 pounds, I started exercising 2 months ago on and off, and im trying to stay away from junk and fast food, I had my first workout for the week on saturday. But sometimes I feel like some people in my family (cough cough my older sister) are always doubting me, like one day I found a pair of shorts that I wanted to try to get into them by the summer time and I told my sister and she says "yea like that's ever going to happen". I feel like she wants me to be fat so she doesn't have to be the only fat one in the house. I also think that my sister is kind of jealous of me because im so talented and intresting and she thinks that if I lose weight I probably would go after my dreams and be something amazing, because at the moment the only thing thats holding me back is my weight. Like I have a semi supportive family. My mother is the type of person who will support me but expect me to do it on my own without any ones help, but I guess thats just because she feels im going to be different from my sisters ( I love my sisters but they are kind of screws at times) and she trying to get me to build my self confidence to a point that I don't need help from anyone. My father he says stuff like wow you look like your losing weight good job. My little sister is supportive of me losing weight, but she is 2 pounds away from being 200 pounds at 18 and she does not care so I definitely hope I can set a good example on her. My brother hears people giving me compliements on my weight loss so he goes to the gym 4 times a week. But sometimes I lose my train of thought and its hard to stay on track.since I graduated highschool I gained 50 pounds, I don't want to gain any more but its so hard.

does anyone have any encouraging words for me while im on my weight loss journey?

THANKS!!!!

Answers:

Don't give up!!!
Dieting may be painfully slow at first, but then something clicks and the pounds shed off :D
Don't deprive yourself of good food, just eat less of it. It'll get easier to do this over time and eventually you might not even want the extra bread or sweets
And get excited about ANY weight you lose - even a quarter of a pound. It counts!
And don't let others discourage you - trust me it's out of jealousy and fear that you'll look better than them
Good Luck (:

You will need to begin an exercise routine that you can do every day. One that is not intimidating. Start at the level that you are at and slowing increase. Your exercise program should be a combination of cardiovascular exercises that get your blood pumping such as running, walking, skiing, tennis, or swimming and weight lifting exercises to build muscle.

It is very important to build muscle because it will burn fat for you all day and all night long. Muscle needs energy and it burns fat to get that energy. You will need to do weight bearing exercises to build muscle. Make sure that you build muscle evenly throughout your body. This is the easiest way to burn fat and I know that you can do it.

2WEIGHT BEARING EXERCISES - Do weight bearing exercises three to five days per week. Make sure to give your muscles a break by alternating from day to day what muscles you are working on. Here are some muscle building exercises that you can do without any equipment. You can do sit-ups or crunches, squats, lunges, pull-ups and lifting your kids up.

If you have a set of dumbbells you can add even more exercises to your routine.

If you have a gym membership, take advantage of all of the machines that they have. Ask for help on how to use them if you do not know.

3LIQUIDS - Drink plenty of water every day. A minimum of eight glasses of water per day in addition to any other liquids that you may drink. Remember that tea, coffee, soda and milk have dehydrating effects and do not count as your water intake for the day. If you weigh more than one hundred and fifty pounds, you will need to drink more than eight glasses of water per day. Increase your water intake approximately two hours before exercising so that you begin your exercise well hydrated.

4EAT HEALTHY - Eat healthy with every bite of food that you put in your mouth. After you have begun your exercise program and started drinking a healthy amount of water, it is time for you to eat healthy as well. Eating healthy is simple: one half of every meal should be vegetables, one quarter of every meal should be meat that is low in saturated fat and one quarter of each meal should be whole grains. Snacks should be a fruit, vegetable, nut, seed, yogurt or lean meat.

You should avoid fast food, processed foods, foods with added sugar, foods with enriched flour, foods with high fructose corn syrup and foods with partially hydrogenated oils.

5MOTIVATION - Keep up your motivation to lose your stomach fat by reminding yourself of your goals. Make a poster of your goals that you can hang on the pantry door or another convenient location.

Keep up your motivation by surrounding yourself with people that encourage your goals and the right tools for success. For example, if exercise brings you down, buy yourself a new exercise outfit that you love to wear each time you exercise. If eating is a problem for you, then set yourself up for success by filling your refrigerator with foods that are healthy and easy for you to eat. Have containers of cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, sliced up cantaloupe, sliced up watermelon and other healthy snacks readily available in your refrigerator. When you go out, take a cooler of healthy food with you so that you are not tempted by fast food.

If you need more help, look in the Resources section below. You can burn stomach fat fast if you start a new routine and keep with it.

Well, the hardest part of moving forward with a diet plan is taking the first step and knowing where it's going to take you from there. First, it's a great thing that you're wanting to lose weight and I'd recommend that you try to ignore anything your sister does to try to sabotage any of your plans to engage in a healthier lifestyle - so congratulations!

But on the side that isn't so rosy, you're going to have to understand that losing weight is a process that takes a pretty remarkable amount of time. Many people go out thinking that if they assign their daily lives specific schedules with certain workouts without exception that their weight loss will inevitably be granted to them.

As a person who has been losing weight for quite some time now, I can tell you that's not how it works.

There are going to be times when you are exhausted and don't want to move a single inch of your body, you're going to get sick and become a whole week behind schedule, you're going to go out to eat with your friends and not eat the healthiest thing on the menu, and you're going to have setbacks as you progress - but your measure of success is not being inhibited by these setbacks, but your motivation to overcome them once they've stopped you in your tracks.

The one thing that entirely revolutionized my life was beginning to run; at first I could barely run 0.25 miles without gasping for air and feeling as if I was about to keel over and die. My insides were aching, my lungs were burning, and my legs were just about ready to give up on me even though in my mind I knew how hard I was really trying to continue on.

Those types of days are going to happen.

However, there are days that are going to look a little brighter and will allow you to understand how you've progressed. After two weeks of what seemed like pure misery starting to run around the neighborhood, I started realizing that I would pass a certain mailbox around 30 seconds before I usually would. Sure, that seems like no difference at all but those thirty seconds would continue to accumulate and before you knew it I would be 1:30 ahead of my initial running time.

Those are the days when you feel as if any amount of pain you've felt thus far have been well worth the fight and you can't ever imagine quitting.

Then, once you've lost a considerable amount of weight you're going to be wearing clothes that fit looser upon your body, jeans that aren't as tight as they used to be, etc. and you're going to feel as if you're invincible and can do anything you want. You feel as if you can skip days of exercise, eat more, eat foods you haven't for so long and have been craving and as you lose weight you MUST keep a tight grip upon your control of losing weight; you may have lost 10-20 pounds, but you've not reached your goal.

This happened to me so many times before I truly realized I needed to buckle down and get back into routine to reach my goal weight - don't be discouraged if it happens to you, it's all a part of the change.

But that's just my advice for running, I would recommend it; if you can't jog for 30 seconds (which was me at first) start out walking the neighborhood daily and once you're tired of just walking around if you're going to want to try to jog it, and once you try jogging it you'll become faster and better.

Also keep diet in mind, in short, since this is already so long I'll just keep it to this: gradually eliminate fatty and fried foods. Processed foods have preservatives that elongate shelf life, but shorten human life. Try to also keep carbonated and sugary (soda) drinks completely out of your system.

Also try eating six smaller, healthy meals a day rather than three bulky ones to keep your metabolism high throughout the day (crucial to effective weight loss) and will regulate insulin levels.

There's not a single place worthy of going to that has a shortcut, and there's not a single place worthy of going to without a genuine struggle. You have the determination to envision it, now take your courage to do it.

Best of luck, you WILL get there.
