Has anyone tried the Paleo diet?!
Question: Has anyone tried the Paleo diet?
Answers:
Well, the healthiest way to eat is to consume mostly veggies, quality protein (such as eggs, which are a "superfood"), and natural healthy fats (that includes saturated fat), since all those are vital to the body and beneficial. Since all the carbs/sugars that you need daily can be found in veggies, nuts and such, there is little reason to consume higher-carb foods such as those from grain/cereals/flours (though I personally allow myself 1 serving of them daily, such as brown rice, for the sake of dietary variety).
I also personally advocate replacing as much fruit intake as possible with more different veggies instead, since excessive sugar intake is a BIG NO NO, and the beneficial nutritional values are basically interchangeable between fruits and veggies. To that end, I also limit my fruit intake to 1 serving per day and just eat extra veggies instead throughout the day.
Eating in this manner over many years (properly restricting my sugars/carbs, even before is was vogue to do so), I never gain weight despite my 2500-3000 calorie intake daily, maintain a lean 8-10% body fat ratio even at age 46, and everyone thinks I'm in my late 20's still.
Pretty much every dietary-related chronic health condition out there (including high fat/cholesterol blood levels) is caused by excessive sugar/net-carb consumption, NOT CONSUMPTION OF NATURAL, UNREFINED FATS (EVEN SATURATED) OR CHOLESTEROL.
