My self esteem have decreased immensely because everyone calls me chubby
:'( i feel so insecure and self conscious
am i really that big? i know I'm big boned but yeah still...
By the way I'm 13, 5'4, and how much pounds do i look like?

The problem you have right now is not your figure or your weight. It's your age. Self concsicous feelings about your weight and harsh name calling by peers is common for tweens and teens. That's stuff will all go away in and not even be a memory in a few years.

You could try to diet if you wanted to but it's far better to just let nature take it course and see how your body changes in the next few years. You'll may or may not have growing spurts and developmental issues but regardless, the teens are a time of great change.

If you want to try dieting, do this. Forget all the fad diets, myths and misinformation, and just plain bad advice you've learned in the past. Here's the only fat loss plan you need and it's approved the US National Institute of Health.

Eat a diet of varied, wholesome, and high quality foods such that your daily caloric intake is about 500 calories less than your daily caloric burn while keeping your macronutrient ratios at about 55/25/20 (%calories from carbs/fats/protein) while not doing anything to defeat the foregoing plan such as taking supplements, abusing drugs, using cleanses or emetics, etc. That's it. It's that simple.

Don't worry about your self esteem. All girls start with self esteem issues about grade six (11-12) and it's quite common. Just try to hang with a good crowd, don't keep friends who constantly criticize, listen to your parents, talk with older sibs if you have any, and most of all, don't be hard on yourself. You are a work in progress and you'll be fine once you get through that most difficult time of life....the teens.

PS: I would guess your weight is about 135 pounds



You're not fat, but you could work out and make your muscles toned. If I had to guess your weight I'd say like 115 lbs maybe 120 I'm not sure. But I'm also 13, 5'3" and I weigh 103 lbs :)
