Suggestions for going vegan?!
Question: Suggestions for going vegan?
Answers:
Getting the right amount of plant-based protein in a vegan diet is actually much easier than you would think- you only actually need 27-47g protein per day (lower- female, higher- male), depending on your lifestyle, weight and build, and this can easily be obtained through not eating animal products whatsoever- infact, people who do eat animal products tend to eat far TOO much protein per day than the recommended daily guidelines suggest. For instance, one of those tiny snack pots of baked beans contains 10g of protein as it is- the same as a large egg. So long as you eat 1 portion of grains (pasta, rice etc), one portion of beans/pulses, one or two of soya (soya milk, tofu, vegan chocco, fake meat), and perhaps (though it's not a must) one portion of nut product (peanut butter, hazelnut spread, nuts in savory food etc), you will definitely get your full 47g of protein a day, trust me. And you may not even need that much, depending on your health and lifestyle.
As for animal-based proteins, eggs are about the best you can get, and also red meats. But still, these tend to contain a very small amount of protein compared to the amount of fat and saturated fat that they also contain, which can clog up your arteries real bad, so it's best to go careful on them...
Anyway, good luck if you decide to go vegan- or even mostly vegan- you're doing a great thing :D
I've been a vegan for a year :)
Don't do it.
Vegan means you don't eat any animal products at all, even eggs. This is a terrible diet option unless you're allergic to everything under the sun.
Most people need meat in their diet - that includes fish and eggs. Organic grass-fed beef and free-range chicken are good; avoid the mass-produced, hormone-fed crud.
Avoid soy and dairy products. I've done a lot of internet research on both, and they're bad for you. Do your own research; you'll be surprised.
dont eat meat. there are substitutes for meat like soybeans and other things, also soy milk and probably the eggs at mcdonalds arent real :) i am not one and i am typing this in a study hall. good luck
go vegetarian, not vegan.
