Question: I want to lose some weight but I am failing at it. Can you give me some suggestions?
Hello guys. I am a teenager and desperately want to lose some weight. But sadly i always fail, ALWAYS!! Whenever i wake up in the morning, my first resolution is to eat less or just to eat healthy food. But then i go to the kitchen and there they are...all the junk foods...coke....candies..and many other such things. Then I am tempted to eat all those stuffs...and i just can't control myself...but i also dance a lot...as dancing is a really good exercise..but nothing happens...i have been trying this thing from the past more than 1 week... :'(
Please help me out friends by giving me some suggestions. :D

You fail because you think you are sacrificing by eating healthy and there is the mindset of having to treat yourself for the sacrifice. Think of this like a drug addict, they feel they cannot live without it but yet millions of us live everyday drug-free. So essentially, the drug doesn't do you any good does it? Just like junk food. You won't die without it. Every time you put it in your mouth you are loosing all the value into the exercise you just had. What good did it do for you? Nothing! So why do it? Eating right is as easy as someone deciding that they are never going to smoke again. It is easy! Because when you change your mindset and see that the food gives you absolutely zero benefit and in fact makes you feel guilty and horrid, you'll stop it. Think of how good you will feel eating an apple or a carrot again. You won't feel bloated and lazy and then be thinking of all the workouts you have to do to make up for it. Best example I can give you are squirells, those things eat nuts all day long and have you ever seen one obese? It's not how much you eat, it's what you eat. You're still going to feel full if you eat a cake or a carrot. You are going to feel less thirsty with water than with soda. And you can drink all the water you want. How easy is that? Look at the unhealthy food with disgust and it won't be a diet but a lifestyle change. Feel sorry for those who need to fill their bodies with empty calories. Also once you cut out sugar, you won't crave it. What you crave when you walk in the kitchen is the next sugar rush from the previous one. Just like a smoker wants another cigarette not because they need it but because their nicotine fix went down from the last cigerette. Feel proud of yourself that you can choose to walk into a kicthen full off trashy food and pick something deserving for you!

do cardio start jogging first start at like 2 miles a day then head on to 10 miles a day then 17 miles a day.... this is what eminem did when he became fat and now you can see he's skinny again

I've had this same problem and so I tried counting my calories and it worked! I lost about 15 pounds in three weeks (which I shouldnt have done so fast) by doing 1000 calories a day but if you go to looseit.com they help alot too just enter in your weight and age and stuff and how much weight you would prefer to loose in a week and they'll tell you how many calories you should eat a day. Also you can enter in what you eat and it keeps track of your calories too! Well good luck! Hope it works for ya!

First: you have to posses the will power! If you're tempted at every turn, and can't overcome these temptations, you are bound to fail.

Second: If I'm reading this right, you've only been at it for a week? A good healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. a lot of the time, the first 5-10 pounds is water loss more than fat loss, so you will need to give it time.

Third: You need to get your diet in order. Cut the sugar and trans fats. Eat more whole foods, chicken, fish, lean meat, whole grains, oatmeal, etc.

Fourth: Once your diet is in order, you will actually start to build lean muscle. Don't worry, you won't get big and "bulky", as you don't posses the needed testosterone to "get big". Once you start to build the muscle, you will burn more calories, especially at rest, which aids in fat loss.

As I don't know your weight, I couldn't suggest a basic diet plan, But there are many resources online that you can get this information. I would recommend a 45-35-20 (carb-protein-healthy fat) diet.

Any questions, feel free to e-mail and ask.
