Is it weird to live off of baby food and salad?!

Question: Is it weird to live off of baby food and salad?
As a 20 year old woman?

I usually have 2 green salads a day (plus an egg white or ifI'm lucky a veggie sausage) along with a jar of baby food... My housemates think it's crazy but I just can't face large portions and I feel it is a good way to control portion size. Sometimes I eat from children's plates and bowls.

I am NOT underweight. I am 5'1" and a healthy 99lbs. Although I have lost about 12lbs in the last 3 weeks.

The 12 pounds you've lost in the last 3 weeks are due to your very low-calorie diet. Because of this, the weight you lost was in the form of muscle, not mostly fat, meaning you have a higher body fat percentage today than you did 3 weeks prior.

Not wanting to eat large portions is fine, but your specific dietary choices are NOT. You are not getting enough calories. Small portion sizes can still yield your daily calories if you choose things like:
-oil and vinegar on your salads
-handful of nuts either on your salads or to snack on
-adding avocado to your salads, or to a smoothie (trust me, it's good)
-adding nut butters to a smoothie

Eating from children's plates and bowls is also fine. I do it because those sizes are good for an adult and actually too much for a child. Plus, it's cheaper.

It sounds like you are eating healthy, since baby food is food, even if it is all mashed up. And eating off of children's plates shouldn't be seen as weird, since it does help with portion control, which most people struggle with anyways. People probably say it's weird, just because most people DON'T eat like that, but then again, most people are overweight.

I wouldn't worry about it, and just keep up the healthy lifestyle.

That's not a healthy diet at all. You may be at a healthy range of body weight and height but you soon will be underweight. You even said that you've lost a lot of weight recently. You need protein as well. If you are a vegetarian then I suggest you research about the health risks that go along with it.

Your diet may be low in fruit and fibre. If you maintain it you could develop diverticulitis. In any event you should always aim at a balanced diet. You can still reduce the amounts you eat, but to exclude fruit and fibre is not a good thing.

Interesting.. that is a little strange. But anything is possible if it works for you. Just be careful eating anything to excess.

As long as you are not underweight and are healthy, with frequent hunger or strong cravings for normal food.

It sounds as if that's a strategy for weight loss.. is it or are you just that way inclined?

That's called anorexia....yes you are underweight!

why not? is this sustainable? if i were your boyfriend, i would be put off by skinny girls with odd eating habits.

no, i know some people are like that
