Question: I'm a 13 year old girl. What's the best way to get fit (not lose weight)?
I weigh about 98.5 pounds and I'm about 5 feet tall. I know eating healthy is good. But I want to know how to become FIT. Not lose weight: I know I'm not fat. I want to become fit, like gain muscles, and improve biceps and even get a 6-pack. I need to be fit for soccer which I'm starting next year. Any tips on exercising? What exercise techniques should I do? Be specific? And how can I get a 6-pack? Should I take a run outside everyday? How long? How much Time? Thanks so much!

For a six pack your diet must me strict. Here are some tips.

Drink plenty of water, plain water!
Choose healthy snacks
Eat small meals regularly
Eat right for your metabolic type

You say you don't want to lose weight, but a six pack is only achievable with a low body fat %
This means keeping your metabolism high, eating regular will do this without affecting your growth and development.

Run! Running is the best exercise for getting fit, do it in intervals.
Sprint, Jog, Sprint, Jog... You get the idea.

Also get involved in a sport club, keep exercise fun. You've seen all those adults bored to death on the treadmill, you don't want to become one of them. Find activities that are fun and get your heart pumping.

A lot of people on here may try to dissuade you from doing this because of your age, but its important to take an interest in health and fitness young so you can develop habits for life.

However that said you should see your doctor before doing anything drastic.

I'd recommend two rest days a week (not together) so that your body has time to recover. This is VITAL, otherwise you won't progress.

Look up a palates exercise called 'the plank.' Its a killer on the abs.

Swimming and jogging are your best choices for getting fit, you should exercise for 20-60 minutes a day and 3-5 days a week. A six pack is hard to get for a girl your age but not impossible, good work outs are hanging from a pull up bar and raising your knees so they pass the 90 degrees do about 10 for each rep, and 3-5 reps, if it seems to easy increase the reps and make sure to rest one day after vigorous workouts.



depending on what shape your in. run for at least a quarter mile a day then when you can increase to a half then to a full mile and keep increasing length and try running faster.

Well cardio is not but going to tone your muscles, but going to like a gym and doing the machines they have there will build it. And not to be a sterotype, but girls look better with a slim stomach ratherthan a sixpack.



I run for about 45 minutes every day in the morning. Eats lots of good protein like chicken. Make sure to eat lots of fruits. This will help. also do like 200 sit ups aday and 50 pushups
some kind of core workout
