A good way if you are stuck in a rut to spice up the gym work out is to go to fitness magazines and books. They will offer you advice on the mind set of your work out, nutritional information, and even give you new workouts to try that target specific muscles/muscle groups. I've found them very helpful, and gain about 10 of muscle less than a month following a few work out routines.

Are you doing different machines on different dates?
An example could be legs exercises, every second day?
Have you spoken to the head weight trainer?
They have alot of information at their finger tips.
Listen to different music, join a yoga class to mix things up a bit.
I trained for years and was asked by the Canadian Female Weightlifting coach to try out for a spot on the team, many years ago.
