Is it better to eliminate junk food/fatty food altogether or to just eat it in m!

Question: Is it better to eliminate junk food/fatty food altogether or to just eat it in moderation?
Whenever I eliminate junk food from my diet, I do feel a lot better than I would if I ate it in moderation. However, whenever I eliminate it and then for some reason I do eat it, (For example, if someone comes over and we order pizza) I feel so sick and sometimes throw up!

When I eat junk food in moderation, I honestly don't feel as good as I do when I eliminate it, but I don't feel sick because I am eating it on a regular basis.

Which do you think is a worse scenario?

Answers:

What I do is make "pseudo" junk food, if I get the craving. If I want pizza, I'll make a whole wheat crust, put on some homemade tomato pizza sauce, low-fat mozzarella, and load on the veggies. Or if I want mac and cheese, I'll make it with whole wheat noodles, low fat cheddar, and skim milk. You can substitute a lot of healthier things for junk, which helps you beat the craving, eat less of it (cause it's generally more filling), and you still feel good. I rarely go out to eat, because you never know what they put into your food, and I found that I'm a way better cook than I thought. And I maintain my health and weight loss, because I buy only healthy food and make almost everything from scratch. So, it's completely possible to eliminate junk food completely without having cravings or being tempted to eat it again.

Went from 245 lbs. to 148 lbs. in a year, and have maintained it for a year (so far) =)

Junk foods usually consist of your "feel good" nutrients like fats and sugars but that doesn't always mean that they will make you feel better. If you eliminate them completely, you aren't losing any necessary nutrients in your diet seeing as how you pick up plenty of good fats and sugars from fruits, veggies, bread, etc. So, I would suggest just eliminating them completely if you're fine with that.

You do feel sick when you eat junk food all the time. Your body is just *accustomed* to feeling sick, and stops alerting you.

Think of it this way, when you stop eating it for a while, you body goes back to a normal/healthier state.

I think eliminating it all together is the best way to go... but if you really must have it, set aside a day to junk food out... (I do this on Fridays. My cheat day is a no-holds bared eat what ever day... and usually I feel sick. Over time I found that I cheat less and less on Friday just because I remember feeling sick.)

IMHO

Well, it is better if you eliminate it
Junk food is JUNK! No one needs that!

That's why you feel better when you are not eating it. I am pretty sure that you have better digestion and all that when you avoid that kind of food. And your body likes that, that's why you feel sick when you eat it again, it is too heavy for a clean body.

In my opionion... dont eat it

i think it is better to eliminate junk food altogether because after a while you no longer get cravings for it. whereas when you try to limit your junk food intake you always get the urge to eat a little bit more. you keep telling yourself that you will compensate by not eating any the following day, however you never stick to it. it is much better to cut it out completely.

Eat very small amounts of junk food in moderation.
It's very good to eat it once in a while, because when one goes cold turkey with out junk food, you'll get extreme cravings and pig out!
To eliminate junk food for me I eat something healthy such as raisins and pecans!
Find a healthy snack food that you'll like and use it to substitute your junk food craving!

I think it is best to diet without junk food, but most nutrition people will suggest that you take a day off from your diet every week or two.

MODERATION!
if u will deprive urself ull diet will just backlash and not only wont those cravings not go away but will become worse after a while.

a lot of experience....

Yeah l prefer to eliminate all the junk food that way its better

The answer is all in the name Junk Food is Junk, a healthy body doesn't want any of it

eliminate it, its bad for you anyway.

Any type of candy has always been a downfall for people trying to lose weight especially chocolate, chocolate is very addicting, and could result in added weight, because chocolate contains many carbohydrates.

Many people fail to eat a good balanced breakfast every morning, because many times we are too busy to eat breakfast in the morning, due to our busy schedule. However, in order for a diet to be successful, a well balanced breakfast consisting of two hard boiled eggs for women will be sufficient, and men may be able to consume four hard boiled eggs a day, and still be able to lose weight successfully. While you are enjoying your daily breakfast drink non-fat diary milk, like 2% milk would be fine. 2 % vitamin D contains high amounts of protein, sodium and carbohydrates.

Moreover, if you are trying to lose 20 pounds a month then a good salad will be a great way to lose weight as well. Many times people would rather eat junk food such as hamburgers or chicken, which contains large amounts of saturated fats, because they are, fried foods.
