What's the best way to recover from a really hard and intense workout?!

Question: What's the best way to recover from a really hard and intense workout?
I'm trying to get back in shape and worked out EXTREMELY hard two days ago and I'm supposed to work out again today.

I'm soooo sore though, so how can I recover, in the future, so I don't feel to exhausted to work out again?

Answers:

when you didn't exercise for a long time, you don't start with a vigorous exercise, but you do it gradually until you are confortable with it.

also you don't work the same muscle groups every day. work your upper body one day, the next day, work only your lower body, then your middle, than start it all over again. so your muscles will have one resting day.

also don't forget to do some flexiblity exercise, and warm up before you exercise and cool down after exercising.

going into the whirling pool hepls too.

I would not recommend working out strenuously in one session, rather spread out your sessions so you can recover faster. Drink lots of water and ensure that you are consuming the right amount of carbs as well as calories. chemland

Lots of Protein and water. Chocolate Milk is also good post workout.

protein shake after, then at least a 1 day rest before you train, if you still feel sore then leave it for another day.
