No feeling in my chest from Bench press, whats up?!

Question: No feeling in my chest from Bench press, whats up?
I've never really felt much pain or hurt in my pecs from bench pressing, whether its flat, decline or incline. The only exercise where I can feel something happening is dumbbell flies and sometimes wide-grip push-ups...

I've tried wider grip with my bench press, closed grip, higher reps lower weight, highest weight i can achieve 8-10 reps on but i never feel like it's effected my chest at all, I just get a burning feeling in my triceps but nowhere else, I've had people check my form and its good too. Can anyone explain this? Bench pressing is supposedly the best exercise to build your chest and i feel im not getting any benefit from doing it...

Answers:

From the way you described it , it seems your triceps are failing before your chest , this is a common problem and simple to fix.

Use a tactic called pre-exhausting , do 3-4-6 sets of incline and flat dumbell flyes before , to isolate your chest while leaving your triceps fresh , then when you bench press your chest and triceps will fail together or your chest will fail first ( which is what you want)

Also maybe try training your triceps more for strength with dips or close grip bench press so your triceps match up to your chest strength.
