What do I eat when im on a diet?!


Question: What do I eat when im on a diet?
I'm 13 years old and im trying to lose 5 lbs. I've been working out everyday for the past 2 weeks on my elliptical machine for 40 mins but i haven't really noticed a difference I think I've been eating pretty good...I have turkey sandwiches from subway or grilled chicken from my house...should i eat something different...PLEASE HELP!!

cut out all junk food, treats, sodas, fast food, greasy food, that sort of thing. Replace with lots of fruits and veggys, chicken is a good meat as well as turkey, and drink lootts of water. 7-8 cups per day.

And if you can go for a walk every day. Good luck and dont worry about it, your goal isnt to lose weight its to be healthier. At this age your body needs a few extra pounds which youll easily shead off later.



Overall, make sure you're being well nourished and that you are actually overweight for your build before you start restricting food. And really, don't obsess on such a small amount of weight: if you've reduced body fat and built muscle, you can gain lbs, while being in much better shape and visibly thinner!

If you really are plumper than you should be, try keeping a strict food diary for a few days and check via a calorie counter that you're not eating more than you know. For example, drinks (even seemingly healthy stuff like orange juice or flavoured milk) can add hugely to your calorie intake while not being at all satisfying.
