How much exercise do i need a day?!

Question: How much exercise do i need a day?
So first off, I only want to maintain, not lose weight.
I am a 16 year old guy, i am 5 feet, 8 inches, and i weigh 113ish.
I drink water and only water, and i eat breakfast, and a little throughout the day, no junk food, HOWEVER, i would like to know how much i would nee to exercise a day if i do eat like a regular teen, and obviously not pig out on everything, just eat stuff like chips every once in a while.
So bottom line, how much exercise do i need to maintain my weight of around 113 lbs if i eat like a regular teen?

Answers:

You're still growing in your teens, so much of your calorie intake is utilized for organ growth and function. Males also have a greater advantage when it comes to weight maintenance as they have more lean muscle mass than females, thus burning calories at a higher rate.
You can get a test done to find out your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which calculates how many calories you burn at rest, and this will tell you how much you can eat without gaining weight.
The bottom line is if you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain. If you burn just as many calories as you consume, you will maintain, and if you burn MORE calories than you consume, you will lose weight.
You can still have chips and brownies now and then, just be sure to burn off those extra calories!

Generally, you want to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Extreme health experts would say at least 60 minutes a day, but if you do 30 minutes of exercise per day, you should maintain your current weight. Exercise is not something that you should dislike if you choose an exercise program that is fun and revolves around your interests. Exercise does not have to involve lifting weights or going for a run if these activities do not interest you. You can get your exercise in by playing tennis, volleyball, racquetball, volleyball, hockey, ultimate frisbee, etc if these activities interest you more. Getting your friends to exercise with you will more likely promote you to maintain an exercise program, so take that into consideration. Hope this helps!
