you can yes jumping uses almost every muscle you have the thing is jumping rope is well boring you will get bord and probably quit i would sudgest doing circuit training(mixed exercises) of body weight exercises with jump rope i.e x amount of situps followed by x of star jump then x of jump rope than pushups,squats,burpees,mountain climbers and juse do this for 30mins/1 hour a day BUT dont forget to mix it up most people quit out of boredom

5 years of boxing i jumped rope alot found it boring if done for long periods so i mixed it up
