Iv quit smoking for 2 days, I have gum and patches but occasionally when I eat I!

Question: Iv quit smoking for 2 days, I have gum and patches but occasionally when I eat I get a bad craving.?
Iv tried to quit a few times and failed, I went 2 week one time but started again. I don't want to this time, I know it's only been 2 days but this is really important to me. I need advice from people that have quit, I can't just stop eating but it feels like I need to so I don't get these bad cravings after I have ate.

Answers:

Fantastic that you are off the cigarettes, i wish I had the willpower to do it, you have managed 2 days without the horrible drug so be proud of yourself and if you want to eat then eat as you wont die from overeating at the moment but think what could happen if you started smoking again. Try eating the low calorie foods if you need to eat, bananas are sweet so they may help with the craving. Stay off the ciggs and I wish you all the luck you need.

The eating thing sucks. Try to find "free" stuff to eat, as in stuff low in fat and carbs. Whole grain tortilla chips and salsa works, and, of course, carrots, celery, non-fat yogurt, etc. Raw almonds are also good, a bit fatty, but it's good fat, and almonds have other good qualities.

I quit 6 months ago using Chantix. It was 6 weeks of misery, but so far it has worked. Another thing, keep track of how much you would be spending on smokes. I figured about 7$ a day. Every day, I add another 7$ to a running total. If you have more discipline than I, stick the money in a jar ever day, and then go buy yourself something cool with it. I bought my wife an ipad with what I've saved.

Keep at it, and good luck.
