I want to gain weight?!


Question: I want to gain weight?
I know i have asked this question a lot of times.
I am almost 14, 5"1, 80lbs & a 32AA
I have a high metabolism, I am underweight, I really want to gain weight tho. I did start puberty but I don't have my period. I want to gain weight! What are some exact names of foods/snacks that I should eat so I could weight more. Healthy foods that gain healthy weight! Thanks!(:

Hi there,

At 14 years old, you still have a lot of growing to do. I bet you that once you get your period and develop a little more, you will naturally gain weight and fill out. It just takes time, but you will get there!

If you want to gain weight, you definitely shouldn't eat a bunch of junk food because that is terrible for you! Try adding healthy, but calorie dense foods to your diet such as:

-nuts/seeds
-natural nut butters (peanut butter, almond butter, etc)
-eggs
-natural cheeses
-2% yogurt/milk instead of skim
-avocados
-olive oil
-dried fruits
-more whole grains (pastas, breads, rice, potatos, etc)
-more protein (lean cut steak, chicken breast, canned tuna, salmon, ground beef/turkey,etc)

You can also try making your own weight-gain smoothies in a blender to have as a snack or drink with meals. Just combine either ice cream or lowfat yogurt, fresh or frozen fruits (berries, bananas, etc) with a splash of milk and some ice cubes, and you can even buy Carnation Instant Breakfast packets to add in for some extra calories/vitamins,and blend it on high until it's mixed. Tastes delicious and good for you too!
