what can I do to lose weight the healthy way,but a little faster?!

Question: What can I do to lose weight the healthy way,but a little faster?
Answers:

Try to avoid food that contains a lot of "fat" (Trans fat, total fat). That diet (I made 5 so far over the last 18 years, lost and gained 30-40 lbs each diet) was the only one that helped me lose 42lbs (and much more important: to keep it off!!). Also, try to do a little bit exercise (whatever makes fun: swimming, walking, jogging). 10-15 minutes a day is a good start. Please DO NOT avoid all "fat" in the food. You may get gall problems (gallstones). There is no way to lose weight fast. The faster you lose weight, the faster you will gain it back. Give yourself 1/2 year to lose 20 lbs maximum, 1 year to loose 40 lbs and so on.

I am a gymnast. The stereotypical gymnast is very in shape, but I must tell you, they love to gorge on their food after practice. If you want to get in shape faster, focus more on your eating habits but keep up the excercise. Anyways, here's what I would say:

- Doesn't matter so what you eat, should reduce portion size (not too much, you can't be anorexic and in shape at the same time, & I don't know how much you eat). IGNORE the rumor that if you excercise more, you need more food. I find I am less hungry. Listen to your stomach, not your tongue.
- If you are really concerned, go for one dessert a day max, and no chips/choose grilled vs. fried/skip the appetizers/choose less fatty meats. They can be worse than one cookie.
- Up your fitness, not by spending more time, but by pushing through when you are tired. You will surprise yourself what you are capable of. Each day, go for more even if you think you can't.
- Skip the sports drinks. You get enough fuel from eating.
- After working out, eat a banana (i find bananas help make me less sore...dunno why), b/c eating within 30 minutes of working out will help you recover quicker/speeds your metabolism.
- Don't worry too much about the weight. It's more about the health. And besides, if you work out more, you will be consuming more water, and you will be exchanging fat for muscle, which weighs more than fat. You can look slimmer without weighing less.

I have been to at least 5 sports nutritionist presentations, but I also have a significant amount of personal experience.
