If I eat only McDonalds, will I lose weight?!

Question: If I eat only McDonalds, will I lose weight?
So, I want to lose weight. I eat anything between 2000-3000 calories a day I guess and am around 250lbs. I know I have to cut down the calorie intake and exercise, however I'm on a budget and can't afford luxury gym memberships and fancy organic foods and what not. What is the point anyway when the world is my back yard, right?

So, to cut down my calorie intake without damaging my budget (infact, saving me money) I figured I'd eat one cheeseburger and a medium fries (around 457 calories) twice daily and some toast for breakfast. I also thought about not using my car except for large roadtrips (45 minutes or more) and cycling or walking everywhere, which will probably add up to around 1 - 1.5 miles a day. All this will cost a little under £180 ($270) per month, saving me about £100 on food shopping.

Maybe I'll eat an apple a day to keep the doctor away, but my question is this. If I walk, cycle or run 1.25 miles a day (on average) and eat less than 1600 calories a day (nearly halving my usual intake) do you suppose I will lose weight?

Opinions welcome,
Thanks.

The basic math would suggest that yes, this would work. It's obviously not ideal. Your biggest problem will be that decreasing your food intake while increasing your activity will make you feel hungrier. Most people who begin eating healthier foods are able to eat relatively large quantities of food simply because a lot of healthy foods like vegetables fill you up but have few calories in them. Since you will be eating less in every way, you will struggle with a growling stomach that will tempt you to get just a "little extra" every now and then until you're right back where you started with no progress made. In addition, the fats, salts, and sugars in fast food all accelerate addiction reactions in your brain, encouraging you to seek them more often than you are prepared to control well.

Before you give up on real food, give the grocery store another chance. Maybe organic vegetables and pastured meats are out of your financial reach, but there are plenty of nutritious foods that actually stretch your buck further than at McDonalds. For example, a big bag or box of brown rice is only a few bucks, but can last for weeks. Frozen vegetables instead of fresh can be just $1 for a bag with 4 to 6 servings in it. I buy almonds in a bag that costs $6 a bag. Sound steep? Well, that one bag of almonds provides me with 16 servings, meaning that it lasts for more than two weeks' worth of high-protein, healthy-fat afternoon snacks at a cost of 38 cents a serving. McDonalds doesn't even have anything on the menu for 38 cents, does it?

McDonalds destroys the rain forest, mistreats animals, sells a product that causes obesity, takes business from mom and pop restaurants, and markets their products to children. And your question is if you can lose weight without giving up McDonalds? I think a better question is if you can eat McDonalds without losing your dignity.

Mcdonalds is horrible for you. so is every fast food resteraunt. You dont need to eat organic but go to a farmers market and buy veggies and fruit. look around different markets you can get really good prices. eat fish, fruit. You can do it watch super size me and you will never ever want to eat mcdonalds again. please dont eat that crap it damages your body. that food affects your heart and arties. think smart. Good luck believe in yourselff!

First don't even eat junk food! On Saturdays you could treat yourself with only 1 unhealthy item. Food changes you can make are eat wheat and drink lots of water. And the answer to your question is probraly. You can push yourself to do more if you are unhappy with results in about 2 weeks. Everbody is diffrent when it comes to losing weight.

My smart brain!

Watch Fat Head
It is proven that you can lose 12 pounds in a month eating McDonalds.
Its not the calories, its how many Carbs the food has.
Watch for Carbs and forget about the Calories.
But always include some kind of exercise to burn the calories.
And Yes, you lose fat and gain muscle.

Watch Super Size Me. That should answer your question.

Have you ever seen 'Supersize Me'??? No, I would go to a grocery store (like a Hannafords or Shop-Rite). And you don't need to buy 'organic' foods, just healthy foods :) Many fruits and vegetables there do not cost a lot of money, and they have wayyyyy fewer calories than McD's food. (Plus there's fiber to help keep you from feeling hungry and eat less:) And a fast paced walk for over 30 mins a day will help you to lose weight. (Anything less than 30 mins is a waste of time :/)
Good luck :D

I weighed as much as you and lost over 75 lbs in one year doing this :)
I hope it works for you too ^^
