How to speed up your metabolism?!


Question: How to speed up your metabolism?
Hey! So I'm about 20-25 pounds heavier than I want to be and I have a slow metabolism. I know that running helps speed it up... but it's minus thirty degrees right now and snowing so I'm kind of out of luck! What are some exercises (without equipment) and foods I can do/eat to speed it up? Thanks!

Walk in place with high knee steps, do jumping jacks, mountain climbers, jump imaginary rope, skaters lunges ( side to side with arm swings ) push ups.Also reduce your fat intake and carbs.

Why do you want to shorten your life? Laboratory animals with slower metabolism live longer.

If you are overweight, it may be due to food selection rather than activity level. I suggest that you stop eating the Standard American Diet. Read "Eat More, Weigh Less" by Dr. Dean Ornish. This book and several others by nutrition experts helped me lose 80 pounds without much effort. A pure vegetarian diet makes you feel better and is the motivation for eating right.

I recommend free weights and aerobic exercises. Stationary bike, jump rope, and dancing are good forms of aerobic exercise that you can perform at home.

By the way, consumption of excess animal proteins, salts, fats, sugars, and artificial ingredients such as MSG and aspartame are harmful to you.



You can add a metabolism enhancer like Xenadrine, but don't over do it and follow directions for use.

Chose foods that will increase your metabolism: A LOT of water, Green Tea,Soup(low fat/ low sodium), Grape Fruit,Broccoli, Greek Yogurt, Oatmeal for Breakfast/Snack, All types of beans and LEAN meat (6 ounce portion daily).

A lot of greens too.

Vitamins such as a Super B Complex which only cost me $6.00 for 100 tablets at Walmart. Taking a mutli-vitamin will also help. Drink plenty of water, eat more protein found in eggs, chicken & turkey. Eat healthy fats such as yogurt, advocado's & use olive oil if you cook. Good luck, hope this helps you out somewhat

Well I will guarantee you that this will work. If you eat 6 small meals a day. Like,
breakfast - A.m snack - Lunch- Pm snack - Pm snack nr 2 - Dinner.

Eat spicy foods!

Drink COLD water!

Drink green tea & plain black coffee

Eat foods high in protein & fiber


These are my tricks :) they've worked for me quite well! remember, stay healthy! xx



Regular exercise. Climb stairs repetitively...I lost pounds this way :)



Lift weights, eat more protein.

Remember muscle is what burns the fat.
