Why am I so obsessed with weight?!

Question: Why am I so obsessed with weight?
I'm 14 years old, 5'4 inches and 117 lbs.
Recently, I've become so obsessed with weight. My mom calls me fat (though she weighs 260 lbs herself) and I didn't use to mind it but now I feel guilty whenever I eat something. I don't starve or purge because I know they're morally wrong. I eat an average of 1500 calories a day.Even though I feel fat, the BMI calculator says I'm perfectly fine.
I'm always afraid that I'll end up like my mom. She was overweight in her youth but she's obese now. She doesn't have diabetes but has hypothyroidism. I saw her youth pictures and (thankfully) I am much thinner compared to her. My father, however, has diabetes, is 200 lbs and recently had a liver transplant (trying to reduce weight). In his youth, he was borderline overweight.
I was chubby in my youth but somehow now I weigh perfectly fine. Everybody tells me: "Oh my gosh! You've grown so thin!" And that makes me happy, somehow. They tell me I look like my grandma who used to be stick skinny when she was young.
So, do I need to lose weight or am I fine?
Here's a pic of me:

I love eating but whenever I do, I find myself really sad. I don't overeat (only on special occasions). I also subsituted white bread with wholemeal, cereal with bran, pasta salad with lettuce and other veggies. How much weight will I be able to lose? I am also active as I run up and down stairs ten times a day and today I walked briskly for 2 hours.
I unfortunately ate a big slice of chocolate cake today too....:(

If you continue this way this will lead to an eating disorder. You're not fat, you're very slim. And a girl your age should NOT worry about weight. You're gorgeous, and trust me, it's not worth spending every day and every second thinking about calorie consumption and exercise. You'll loose years of your life, and you will never be the same again..trust me. You should just maintain your weight, hunny. And don't try to achieve something that even a model cannot achieve, models nowadays are given slimmer waist, longer legs, perfect hair, lighter eyes..and tell me, how can we achieve something like that if even the model herself cannot look like herself? You should gain more self confidence, look at yourself in the mirror and find at least 5 positive things! and write in a diary everyday.

yr mum is being mean by calling you fat or probably is jeaouls u look fine and you look thin and healthy and if you do overeat one day eat a little less the next day but to me u look fine so do not feel sad

me

My sister is skinny too, and she is 14 she weighs and she is just as tall as you. Your not super fat or super skinny. :)

You are fine and are making great dietary choices.... refrined grains are bad--good job.

Don't worry, I started obsessing overweight when I was 10-11. It's all hormones. When you were younger it really didn't care what weight you were, you just wanted to have fun. But when you're a teenager, you want to make a good impression on everyone because that's what our hormones are telling us to do. Don't worry, you're not alone. And you're not even fat, I was chubby at the time :/ but ya know, it's something you grow out of when you get to middle school

You are very thin. You do not need to lose a single pound. Your mom has no right to call you fat. She is emotionally abusing you, especially if it is making you feel guilty. Chances are she's trying to project her own insecurities about her weight on you. If I were you, I would talk to a school counselor and explain the situation to them. What your mom is doing is not right and can be very damaging.
