Is my diet extremly bad?!


Question: Is my diet extremly bad?
I sometimes thing i eat too much, im 14, 5ft 3, 105pounds.
Today i ate;
Bowl of coco pops and semi skimmed milk
Chicken sandwich (white bread)
Orange
Crisps
A twix bar
Another bowl of cereal
A stirfry for dinner with 1 and a 1/2 wholemeal pitta bread
Some jaffa cakes
Two slices of toast with nutella.
Normally i'd eat more fruit and less cereal but on average is my diet really bad :|

Let's analyze with food groups. :)

Breakfast - One milk, one grain.
Lunch - Two grains, one fruit, one meat, two junk foods.
Snack - One milk, one grain.
Dinner - One meat, one veggie, 3 grains.
Snack - 3 junk foods, 2 grains.
TOTAL - 2 Milk/11 Grain/2 Veggie and Fruit/2 Meat/5 Junk

As you can see here, you're eating in terms of food groups, isn't too awesome. You are consuming far too many servings of grains for somebody your age and far too little veggie/fruits. In addition, you are eating more servings of junk food then veggies and milk servings combined. Rethink your diet by adding more veggie and milk products and decreasing your junk food to just one serving a day. Also, some of your choices of foods are not so great. Instead of sugary coco puffs, have a whole wheat museli instead.

And you're not eating too much. Just not the right stuff.

NOTE:
Even though you are thin, you can't get away with eating like this in the long run. You're putting yourself at risk for obesity and heart complications when you get older. Even skinny people can get heart attacks!



Switch out the coco-pops for some Wheaties. Substitute some multi-grain bread for the white bread. (White Bread in my humble opinion is the nutritional equivalent of eating toilet paper). Other than that, looks pretty good.

Second thought, toss in a salad in place of the jaffa cakes and the toast.



I'm not a nutritionist, so take it with a grain of a salt: I think your diet is decent, at least compared to diet of other teenagers of your age. The only thing I can suggest is more veggies! ;p Also, what do you usually drink? Water? Energy drink? Soda? Those can add up as well (besides, water, obviously).



you make my daily diet sound bad, that doesn't sound bad at all, you're getting your eating everything on the health pyramid, but just don't eat twix everyday

i weigh 145(mostly muscle) and i am about 5 ft 9 and i am 15



too many bad carbohydrates, not enough protein or fiber.

fruit is way over rated... really, people need to eat more vegetable based meals.

your diet is not extremely bad, but you have huge room for improvement.



no thats pretty average. i eat more than that.
