Teenagers shouldn't be on diets. You just need to eat responsibly.

Eat a good sized breakfast, it boosts your metabolism for the day and helps you burn energy. A couple boiled eggs, fruit, whole grain toast, real oatmeal, cottage cheese etc.

Lunch should be lots of fruits and veggies, lean meat if you're an omnivore, and complex carbs like brown rice, root veggies, potatoes, wholemeal breads (pita, bagel, wheat things with low salt) and beans. The complex carbs will give you energy for the rest of the day so you'll be able to have a lighter dinner.

Dinner should be along the same lines as lunch, try to reduce your salt (some salt is essential though don't cut it out completely!) and fats from oil and butter.

Snacks are good! If you eat a little something every 2 hours, an apple or a granola bar (sweetened with honey) it'll keep your metabolism going.

Remember that the more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolism and the more fat you will burn. So along with jogging and tennis, you can do some light weight training on all areas of your body.

Good luck!

Well I would say that diet is a bit overused but if you mean whether you should try to avoid eating certain things then I would say that there are thing to definitely avoid. For starters I would have to say fatty foods. Nothing will do more damage to your system with the exception of steroids than fats.

I would have to say from experience that a good breakfast with plenty of fibers and natural 100% juice would be good for starters and try to avoid all those protein diets you hear about. Also my advice would be to avoid as much meat as possible. I tell you from experience because I don't get sick not even the occasional sore throat and the only thing I didn't eat that my friends ate when I was young was meat and fatty foods.

Also avoid lots of foods with preservatives like canned goods because those contain a lot of benzene derivatives which are hard for your body to break down. Now you won't get this from any of the 'popular' sources but if you want to be healthy instead of overweight and sickly by the time you're 30 you'll have to avoid a lot of the processed food with those long lists of odd chemicals. Stick to the natural stuff and you should be fine.

Finally make sure you sleep well and avoid stress because a stressed body will seriously reduce the benefits of any diet.

Personal Experience

Hi, i understand that you want to know how to get in tone, which is very good, but if I were you I wouldn't look for this on internet or Yahoo Answers, I mean it is better if you look for a nutritionist, he will give you a list of things you can eat in your meals.

But remember you gotta keep exercise, it is great to go 4 days a week to tennis but keep in mind that if you exercise too much you can grow muscles instead of getting "thinner" and that will only make you look strong lol

I suggest you keep up your exercise the way it is, maybe going for hikes/walks 30min-1hr per day or in weekends. And look for a nutritionist, he will give you THE BEST ANSWER, because they will see your body and will think of what you can eat so you get in tone, it must be according to your body. And he will suggest you a better diet

Good Luck :)

Try it, it's based on a healthy lifestyle, not a restrictive boring diet plan

And if any doubt, ask for advice from your parents, a trusted adult or a medical professional.

Do what i do, try and burn more calories than you consume daily.
Under 800 calories consumed daily ad do sit-ups everyday.
It isn't very healthy though :/

Fruit Smoothies
Veggies
Fruits
Whole Grain
Beans
Oatmeal

Stay away from fried things, high calorie things, candy and ice cream, sodas.

Hope I helped :)
