Flexibility question?!

Question: Flexibility question?
I go to a pilates class once a week, and my question is (I think?) about hamstring flexibility. Basically, for some of the poses/stretches we sit on our seat bones with out legs straight in front of us or in a V. My problem is that I cannot stretch my legs out and sit up straight at the same time. I've noticed that the other people in my class don't seem to have as much trouble keeping straight as I do. In order to get my back straight I have to bend my knees quite a lot and I feel that I lose the stretch. I had scoliosis as a child and that might somehow be related, but I think it might also be that my hamstrings are very tight.
Basically, my question is can anyone identify the weakness that causes this inflexibility? And are there any exercises/stretches I can do to improve it?

Look up foam rolling exercises especially hamstring related.

You may find you have some pelvic tilt too. This is where the entire pelvis is angled (in your case probably) back a little. Strengthening your quads (the front of your legs) will help pull your pelvis back into line and loosen your hams.
