Question: Please help, I feel fat. Am I fat?

I feel so fat when I look in the mirror. Trying to diet to get to 105lbs but when I eat 'healthy' I gain. (3 healthy meals medium size no snacks) It seems like the only way to lose is to go under 1000 calories a day. Is there a diet that would be good? I feel awful

Don't feel awful. It's kinda weird because i am also female, 16 years old and 5 ft 6, i weigh 125 Ibs and i am okay with it. What's important is eating healthy and staying in shape, don't worry about your weight and don't starve yourself. For your age and height, you have a perfect weight. Be thankful for the food you have, if you go on dangerous diets, then you will do more harm to your body then good. If your worried about what other people think, they are probably focused on their on weight to care. It should not matter what other people think, what matters is how you feel. If you weigh 105 Ibs, then that would be abnormal, just be happy with how you are. Like i said before exercise,eat healthy, and remember no matter what anyone says or what you think, you are not fat. Be careful because if you keep thinking like this, you will end up with anorexia. Appreciate life, eat healthy, and be happy.



There is a correct way and a wrong way to lose weight. When you consume too few calories per day, your body thinks that it's facing a famine and it slows the metabolism, so that weight loss is more difficult. This ability helped man survive for as long as we did. Although food is plenty today, that feature has not changed.

Although you may want to diet, but a lot of diets require you to restrict yourself to certain foods or keep a very low calorie intake, which is why many diets fail. You could eventually lose weight by starving yourself, but not without hunger pangs, fatigue and possible blackouts. You may not want to wait, but in the long run, losing weight the correct way is actually faster than starving yourself.

Furthermore, other weight loss plans require that you spend money on expensive meal plans or pills, etc. in conjunction with exercising on your own. While the exercise is free either way, why spend you money on unnecessary things? You can simply do a brisk 20 minute walk through the neighborhood (at least three days a week) and eat healthier for about the same cost as what you spend on groceries already.

Finally, throw fatty snacks out of the house. Chips or cookies will not hurt you every now and then, but why have the temptation? Replace them with fresh fruits that can be eaten by hand, such as apples and bananas. In addition, only drink water, milk, and 100% fruit juices.

you are not fat at all..I am exactly the same size as you and I'm not fat..people actually comment on saying that I shoould be a model but modeling it's not my thing....and thrust me last year I got to exactly 106 pounds and It wasn't pretty at all, you could see my bones clearly but now I'm 120 :)

Oh my gosh. No! You are really thin. Don't try to lose any more weight - honestly! If you wanna get healthier, that's fine! But don't drop to 105. That would make you underweight. You sound like you have a good body already! Hope this helped(:
