No it really does not. It is a mild appetite suppressant, and due to the caffeine it does have some very mild metabolic stimulation, but no moreso than black coffee. With that said, all the actual health benefits you do get from it make it one of the healthiest things you can drink. Second probably only to water. Cancer fighter, lowers BP, helps boost the immune system, good for heart, good for lung function. All in all it is well worth drinking it.. but you will be disappointed if you do it to lose weight.
