Should I join in the gym or should I not?!

Question: Should I join in the gym or should I not?
I can't make up my mind!
I used to go to the gym and did alot of cardio and rowing. That was just last year. I was decent built and quite toned on the stomach. But then I had a busy period for about a month and I hadn't gone again after that. I cancelled it.
Today, a year later, I have put on almost 19lbs or 9kgs from eating too much carbs which is just ridiculous as I'm vegan but not by choice. I'm now in the frame mind to shed the fat and get back down to 171lbs (78kgs) and also to tone my stomach. The think I can't make my mind up is whether to use the gym (with pools, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi) or do it by running the streets.

The gym will cost me £44.00

Answers:

Do both (walk/jog outside and use a gym) as you need all the variety you can get to avoid boredom.

I have a good gym but you would never catch me on a treadmill there as I’m lucky enough to have a safe and beautiful neighborhood where I can walk/jog while literally smelling the flowers.

Also joining a gym is great, whatever the cost, if it has an aquatic center like yours. Even if you never go there, you are still paying for the possibility than you can go there anytime because you’re paying for it. An aquatic center is a great magnet...just only be lured by a hot shower.
Your body is 75% of water when you are born, then 60% for male and 55% for female so everybody enjoy water. Drinking it, showering in it, taking a bath in it, swimming in it, floating in it, being in a hot water whirlpool, sweating in a sauna and replenishing it...

If you have a gym membership, you can never use the “I don’t have a gym membership” excuse to not exercise.
Also, it you lack motivation, you could decide to go to the gym just to relax in the Jacuzzi and then go home...chances are (in my own experience, 100% chance), you’ll want to swim a few laps as you see the pool which is more inviting when it’s THERE and you’re already wearing your swimsuit and being wet from the shower...
I don’t go to the gym to swim 30 minutes laps, I go there to use the sauna for 10 minutes or the whirlpool but before I turn left to the sauna/steam room/whirlpool area, my legs keep going straight to the pool. It’s like my brain is tricking my body. Always do your laps before the whirlpool and/or sauna which are exhausting (drink a lot of water after that).

I have a question...are you using the steam room? If you do, why? I tried it (out of curiosity) and felt like suffocating, breathing in all the steam. Maybe it’s for people who cannot dehydrate in a sauna...I lose 2 pounds of water in 15 minutes in the sauna so I have to drink 4 cups of water in the next hour.

Your gym is expensive (maybe they provide fresh towels?).
I have a family membership at the Y for $55 (£44.00 = $71.08) and they also have an aquatic center (same as yours...but we call the Jacuzzi a whirlpool as it’s really a hot bubbling pool that is bigger than a Jacuzzi). They don’t provide fresh towels as everybody prefer to bring their own. In the US, you only get fresh towels in hotel or vacation spots as people don’t bring a lot of towels in their suitcase. Otherwise, you bring your own towels to use in your neighborhood gym. Even in my house, I use my own color towels (yellow) while my kids do not care and use all the other colors...except yellow, which is mine. Why am I going on a rant about towels?

Resume your gym membership...go there just to use the sauna and/or the Jacuzzi. Once there, you’ll want to jump into the pool for some whole body, low impact, relaxing exercising, before you use the sauna and/or the Jacuzzi.

I always keep a gym bag in my car, with a swimsuit, flip flops, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels (3, one for the pool, a thick one for the sauna and one for the last shower) and my club ID card because I’m impulsive. Now I can pass by my gym and just decide to go in for a hot shower and end up doing laps.
Once, I got impulsive, I still had a towel (as I always keep one in my car), I did not have my Y Id card but I could still use my driver’s license, I used the Y shampoo and body wash dispenser (not as luxurious as my raspberry scented ones) and thought “gosh darn it, I don’t have a swimsuit!” while I was aching to do a few laps in the pool or use the Whirlpool and/or sauna. I could not as I had no swimsuit. At least I got a good hot shower.
I bought more swimsuits (it’s a big endeavor for women), and one of them is always in my car.

Note:
You’re a vegan but not by choice? What does that mean?
Please explain why you do not eat any food coming from animal source and it’s not by choice.
Vegans need to be passionate about the diet decision they make as to spend enough energy running after the almighty protein while still never craving a cold or warm glass of real chocolate made with real milk (I tried recipes with soy milk...a lot of effort for one sip and it was down the sink drain), an omelet or a good Filet Mignon or some roasted chicken.
Each time I do vegan dishes and desserts, out of curiosity (I like to experiment with food as you can stumble onto gold mines), nobody ever eat the leftovers.
I’m thinking a lot of people have messed up taste buds, messed up by sweets, salt, saturated fats, processed food, and junk food. As long as they’re messed up, they might as well eat vegan food and won’t know the difference.

Edit:
Doctor X needs a gym membership with an aquatic center, or at least access to a body of water (some lakes and beaches have public access) so he can float on his back, meditate and relax. It’s not just about weight lifting or money (his whole attitude proves my point).

Going to a gym, and PAYING money is the most ridiculous thing people do.

Get a part time job in a warehouse or loading dock. Picking up and throwing around heavy boxes for several hours every day will tone you up better than any gym, and here is the bonus.... they will pay YOU money!

Dont do it. Diabetes is all the rage
