How long does weight gain takes to show?!


Question: How long does weight gain takes to show?
I'm trying to gain my weight back that I loss. I'm eating at least 700 (usually 900) extra calories per day) aside from the calories I need to maintain my current weight. I know that the scale is not the right way to measure health, because of the fact that muscle weights more that fat and blah blah blah....But anyway I weigh myself just about every morning give or take and the scale remains the same. So my questions are how long does it take for weight gain to show up on the scale, I definitely know that it's not one day because your body needs time to convert the extra calories into fat or muscle so it takes some time. So approximately how long is this time frame, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks? Also how long does weight gain takes to show up on the body.?????

Its usually in the first two weeks then the body twigs that the amount of calories has been reduced and so slows the metabolic rate down to burn less calories.



If you are just coming off of some weight loss, it should show up right away. Even though it takes time to convert the food you eat into muscle or fat, if you are replenishing your body's stores of energy, the scale should almost immediately (within two days) show a 5 pound gain (water plus simple sugars stored in the muscle). That should also be visible on your body, making you look a little more puffed out.
If the scale hasn't moved, I think you're still not eating a surplus of calories. Those calculators are a good general guideline but everybody's metabolism is a little different, and you apparently burn more than average. Try boosting your calories by another 200 or 300 and see if it goes up. Don't be shocked or scared by the weight gain in the first week (which might be up to 10 lbs). See what happens the second week. The second week will give you a better idea of how much weight you are actually gaining.
