Question: I want to lose 60+ lbs. by August. Is this goal reasonable?
I am a 28 year old mother of 2 and have ballooned to 242 lbs. I must say that I am not as active as I should be, also I skip ALOT of meals and then binge every night. I think that is my major issue. Is there a dietary supplement that would help? Any other recommendations?

break it down- 60lbs in 6 months
10 lbs per month
2.5 lbs per week
this is very possible but takes dedication
1 lb=3500 calories
2.5 lbs=8750 calories

this means that you have to create a calorie deficit of 8750 calories per week or 1250 per day.

diet-your eating habbits are about as bad as possible. you should have 4-6 small meals at regular times during the day. this keeps your metabolism up so that you burn more calories throughout the day. count calories and eat about 700 calories less each day.

excercise-consider getting a membership to a gym. when doing cardio, focus on interval training, it makes your body work harder and you burn calories faster. also do some weight lifting. not only does this keep your heart rate up, it will help tone your body so that you appear to have lost even more weight than you actually have. if you are eating 700 calories less, than 550 calories of exercise(about an hour of hard exercise) will bring you the rest of the way to your goal.

fad diets-they don't work. i am grouping pills into this category. if there was any "easy way" to lose weight than everyone would be skinny.

Eat 6 small meals a day. Mix in a little cardio and you will reach that. Reasonable indeed, don't quit!
