Question: What exercises are okay to build muscle at 13?
I heard lifting weights can stunt a kids growth. If so why? And is doing 4 sets of 20 push-ups a day okay?

Yes that it perfectly okay. When people say this can stunt your growth they are reffering to doing intense work outs everyday to build muscle mass. Which can be unhealthy considering your muscles are not fully grown yet. However what you are doing by doing 4 sets of 20 push ups a day is toning your chest muscles. Which is actually healthy and will not stunt your growth at all. Now if you were to start lifing weights everyday and pushing yourself to the fullest of your ability to build muscle mass then thats a different story. Also it all depends on the person, not all kids who start working out at your age will stunt their growth. And toning your muscles is okay in any situation. Even if you are doing intense workouts. As long as your goal is to tone your muscles and not build mass you will be fine. Hope i helped ya out a little

Yes thats fine but don't really hit the weights hard till your about 15 then you should be developed enough.



You don't want to hurt yourself. 4 sets of 20 is fine. If you go too hard, you can damage our muscles so take it easy.
