how come i am not loosing weight?!?!

Question: How come i am not loosing weight?!?
I am eating around 1200 calories a day and exercising doing leg exercises or cardio for about 30-45 min every day. How come I am not loosing weight? I either maintain or gain a pound for 2 days then go back down then gain it again. What is wrong with me!?

You may be drinking extra calories(juices, sodas, energy drinks) or not keeping an accurate food log. Weight can fluctuate about 9 pounds per day because liquids and foods in the body are not free from the effects of gravity, so try not to weigh every day. Weigh in once a week at the same time of day. It is rare to have a glandular problem, so it probably lies with the things I stated in my first sentence. I doubt anything is wrong with you.

2 glasses a day? You should try to drink more water. At least twice that or more. Be sure to get some meats in your diet so you don't get a B-12 deficiency. If you do not think it is weight fluctuation, then it may be inaccurate calorie counting. Most people not keeping a food log can be off by as much as 40% or more. Keep a written log of everything you put in your mouth, and it will help you see where the problem lies.

It is either your replacing fat with muscle or your metabolism isn't picking up. It says in Eat to Live (by Joel Fuhrman) that cutting back a lot of calories slows down your metabolism rate and makes you either regain that weight or maybe make you be in a worse state then you were. You should do this to speed up your metabolism...

Sleep! Getting quality sleep helps immensely!
2) When you wake up, getting in 16oz of water, and a good breakfast (at least 250 cals of protein and carbs.. don't go crazy and throw down a 1450 calorie skillet breakfast)
3) Training hard - high intensity exercise such as weight lifting has been shown to keep up metabolic rate for up to 39 hours after working out!
4) Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Some will suggest 5-6/day.. for some, that's not possible. Think of it like the gas in your car.. it does better when you apply steady pressure, rather than slamming on the gas, then taking your foot off for 20 seconds, and slamming on it again... same with your metabolic engine. It likes frequent, smaller feedings
4) Most people that have a fast metabolism... don’t really have one. It’s the little things we do that make the difference. Walking, taking the stairs, parking farther out in the parking lot, etc… they’re small, but they do add up.
5) build/maintain muscle - Your muscle is a huge component of your metabolic rate. There’s the idea that ‘guys lose weight easier or guys can eat anything... Men have an easier time, due to typically a higher level of lean body mass... our calorie burning engine is higher. Add 5lbs of good, lean muscle, and you’ll see your metabolic rate picking up
Good Luck!!!

I really recommend you read Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman. If you truly commit, You can lose 20 pounds or more!!!

Well if you are eating that few calories daily and being active, it better be ALL healthy nutrient dense foods, including LOTS of veggies and healthy natural fat/protein foods, and fewer higher carb/sugar foods (which is what promotes all fat weight gain from a dietary standpoint, NOT FAT INTAKE). If you are not doing that, then your body is probably in starvation mode and fighting to maintain whatever fat it has on it, while it burns your precious muscle tissue for sustenance instead.

It's easier to lose weight by eating more calories of the right foods daily (especially if you are active), than going the calorie deprivation route and starving the body of what it needs to be healthy and lean.

On a side note, various female hormones also promote fat weight gain/retention, and some women have those hormones in overdrive more than others...that's a whole different issue.

It takes more than just a week to see results....... Plus, I think you meant "losing" and not loosing...

how much do you weigh??
