Water after a night out drinking bad for you?!
Question: Water after a night out drinking bad for you?
I do it instinctively and it does stop me feeling bad the morning after.
Why would a teacher of first aid say such crazy things, is there anything to back his statement up?

No absolutely nothing. People often present their own opinions as fact.
Ya, totally reverse. A smart drinker knows to drink water in between drinks, or at the least a tall glass at the end of the night, it's dehydration that causes a hangover, plus if you don't drink water after drinking, the alcohol will keep burning away at the throat ( one of the main causes of laryngitis). The teacher was probably just smashed.
I think what she was told was that drinking a lot of water won't sober you up. Or that you should not give a lot of water to someone who is drunk (they may pass out, and then vomit - more liquid in their system means more vomit, which means a greater chance of aspiration).
You are correct that drinking water offsets the primary cause of hangovers: dehydration.
Unless you're drinking water in massive massive quantities, then drinking water after a night out to counteract dehydration is totally the right thing to do - it's why it's an instinct for us to drink water when we feel thirsty/dehydrated. Seems crazy advice from the first aider there!
Liquor usually dehydrates you, therefore water is a good solution. As we all know, water dehydrates...
its only logical.
Now drinking water while you are drinking booze is not such a good idea.... but that's a totally different story.
huh? no, water after a night drinking i think is definitely a good idea. even better, having a drink of water between each alcoholic drink you have has been proven to have good affects!
No way! Water hydrates and cleans your system out. Sounds like the teacher is a moron.
thats crazy. if alcohol dehidrates you, why would water be bad? non sense!
No. it's not bad.
