think i might've worked too hard at the gym today?!

Question: Think i might've worked too hard at the gym today?
well i started working out 2 weeks ago and i'm pretty out of shape and am overweight and ready to get back on track so i've been to the gym every day and i love it. well anyways today after i had done my usual weight lifting i decided to get on an elliptical. i ended up staying on there for a full hour. i was just so motivated i didn't want to stop. anyways after i stopped i left the gym. in the car on the way home i started feeling funny and once i got home i felt like i was going to get sick. it's 2 hours later and i get random bouts of nausea and am just overall tired. anyways my question is did i work too hard? is that why i feel this way or is it just a coincidence? also is there anything i can do to make this go away? i've also lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks so i'm affraid i'm losing weight too quick. any tips would be helpful.

I commend your effort and dedication, but yes, you are definitely overdoing it for now. 14 pounds in 2 weeks is definitely too much.

The best advice I can offer is that you need to create a routine and then stick to it for a while. I have no idea what sorts of things you like to do - but lifting weights for 30-45 minutes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and doing around the same amount of cardio on Tuesday and Thursday is a perfectly good place to be.

A bit of brief cardio after lifting weights is fine - but mainly to get stretched out, not to burn 500 more calories.

In terms of feeling better right now, have a little bit of water and a nice long walk. Try not to just crash out and sleep until you've gotten your body calmed down a bit. Then a small meal and you should sleep like a rock.

Good luck - your motivation and determination are great!
