It really depends on how active you really are. The key to losing weight is actually to keep your body fed throughout the day. You should try and consume 5-6 small portion meals a day. By doing this, it will raise your metabolism which will burn stored fat. Cardio is a fantastic way of burning extra calories. Studies show that you should do anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour of cardio at 60% of your maximum heart rate.

220 - (Age) x .60 = Target Heart Rate

Make sure that food you're eating during your day is nutritious otherwise you won't see the loss you're expecting. The recommended daily calorie intake is 2,000. Most dietitians will recommend varying that by 500 calories depending on your goals. So, if you're trying to lose weight, you should be around 1,500. Remember to stay active!

Hope this helps!

you would only gain weight if you were eating less than that before, if you weren't then you probably will lose weight though don't starve yourself you could probably eat a little more and do a bit of exercise and still lose weight. Remember the average woman is supposed to have 2000 calories a day and you've had less than half of that. If anything you may be eating too little

Don't be crazy! Proper weight loss is all in the exercise! Try and eat more calories, caloric restriction to this extent, will not help in the long run, unless you want to be a centenarian! Trust me, just walk more...and hold back on the junk.

You should eat more carloties than that. If you starve yourself you're actually losing muscle, not fat.
