how do you cope with weight gain after anorexia?!

Question: How do you cope with weight gain after anorexia?
I feel like **** whenever I touch food ..
I am a fourteen year old vegetarian and I need to get out of my habits...
Is the only way to go against my feelings of guilt and do things even though I don't want to?
or is there something else I can do to not make me feel less guilty...?
Help me...
Thank you. : ]

You have to concentrate on what is healthy eating as opposed to self destruction. Exercise is important too. Healthy weight gain is ok, being too skinny is just as bad as being too obese. Being too skinny is not attractive. Think about what causes your eating disorder. Do you feel like you have no control over your life? Look up Karen Carpenter and read about her story. She died from anorexia.

best way of gaining back (healthy) body mass would be to eat a lot of meat fish and carbohydrates...vegetarian recovering from anorexia though... i don't think your ideals could've made things more awkward for you.
somehow you need a lot of protein and fatty foods in your diet,

ah had to google a few things and found ice cream is vegetarian (i always though they used milk from cows in it though...) so try an icecream-seed-nuts-bread-pasta diet (i think all those seed things my mum used to eat had a high protein% in them anyway) just make sure you get in a decent amount of exercise or you're just gonna gain a massive amount of fat at an unhealthy rate compared to protein (and don't massively overeat either! your body isn't meant to change rapidly, if it were you'd be fully grown at the age of 2!)

edit - ah soybean and sunflower seeds also contain fats, i knew i was missing something, that might be a better alternative to ice-cream, they just seem like such unsubstantial foods though...

oh and ignore shelli wirsing down there Sibutramine is withheld from people with anorexia for the very reason that it makes it worse, and is a good way of LOSING weight, which is not what you want to be doing.

I was ana/mia when I was 15-17yro. When I was at my smallest I weighed 130lbs at 5'9 which I know now it too thin. I was just starting to change my habits and feeling at lot better physically and mentally when my doctor put me on steroids. I went from a lovely 150lbs to 205 in less than six months. The whole time I was on the steroid I didn't change my eating habit and even started excersizing a lot more but I kept on gaining weight. I tried to kill myself three times, but the doctors eventually put me on an antidepressant and my mood stabilized. I'm working hard to lose the weight but I still don't feel bad enough to revert to purging. You need to learn to love food in a healthy way. Certain foods boost your immune system some produce endorphins which makes you feel happy. You might also want to look into antidepressants, they have helped me a lot. If you do ask for antidepressants make sure to tell your doctor that you can't take any that will make you gain weight. risperdal will make you gain weight like crazy. :(

When I was in recovery from anorexia I was always feeling like crap when ever I ate so I know how it feels. I try to think about how its helping me and that eating right is completely normal. And also that the weight gain is necessary for me to be healthy again. The guilt feeling is probably always going to be there thats why I try to weigh myself as less as I can.

how bout you say to yourself. "omg i needa eat because i look like a skeleton plus ii have no booty. and i know what that means. im like a b*tch with no a$$ i aint got sh*t."

Ugh... I'm going through the same exact thing lol. :] it's ok though bc I'm eating better and excersising more!! Good luck though!! hope I helped! How much do you wanna gain? I'm 5'4 and 95 lbs ;D

I'm a vegetarian :) you just have to think when youeat, your not harming other things or yourself. Intact your making your self look better. :))
