Need some p90x help please?!


Question: Need some p90x help please?
Okay so I am on day 36 of p90x and I was wondering when i should really start seeing results.Im a 6'1, 166 lb ectomorph trying to bulk up. I don't expect anything miraculous already, I am just curious. So far my chest and back have changed the most but nothing special. And when do abs really start to show cause they only show when i flex.
Also my friend is the one who has the cd's but he does not have phase 2 at the moment. (no idea when he will get it) so we have been modifying the workouts to the specific muscle groups that would've been targeted that day, using the exercises we learned from phase 1. Will this make a big difference in the results we get?
Also since I am in college I do not have the money to follow the food guide but I eat as healthy as possible and lots of it. usually the food includes potatoes, greens, carrots, chicken/turkey and a salad. ( sometimes ill get a slice of pizza too if I was low on calories). I was wondering if it will make a difference in results by not following the nutrition guide.

No I didnt follow the nutrician guide because my diet is perfect , ive done my own research. I just did the workouts , which are great . Buy your own cd's , they're worth it . You need more protein than that for muscle , up your dairy , cheese eggs , cottage cheese . Get some muscle building protein shakes .
