Question: If I swim everyday all summer for about 2-3 hours a day eat light and healthy will I lose a lot of weight?
I am approximately a 350 lb. 5'10" female that loses weight fast when I really put my mind to it. My grandpa has a pool and if I stay with him all summer and seriously swim everyday for a few hours, eat well, and walk every night, how much weight do you think i can lose? I mean fat of course because I will obviously be gaining muscle and won't lose much on the scale. Thanks so much for any help! :)

You will burn a lot of fat I believe. Swimming is one of the best exercises because it exercises your major muscle groups, it's essentially a full body workout. As long as you maintain pace and work at it everyday then you should start replacing fat with muscle, especially if you're going all summer! However some research shows that swimming in a colder pool outside (around 20 degrees Celsius) is much less likely to cause weight loss as it ma make feel hungrier after swimming, therefore you're putting the calories straight back on. A warmer pool is less likely to make you hungrier afterwards. If you're unsure then maybe do a variety of exercises during the day as well as swimming. Cycling or jogging burn a similar amount of calories.

Err anyway, you can probably lose a good 40-50 lb in a month if you put your mind to it! But you won't.
