obviously good diet and exercise is needed
i advise you not to go lower than 1800 calories a day or
your body would eventually go into starvation mode , go lower and your metabolism would be even lower and therefore you would burn less calories. also you would start to store more fat to function properly.

as for exercise : an excellent way to lose fat / weight is hiit ( high intensity interval training ) basically it is a system where you work out 3-4 times a week. what you do is after a 5min warm up e.g slow jog you then run as hard as u can for 30 seconds and then rest for 90 secs and repeat 6 - 14 times ( run at max intensity 6 - 14 times in whole work out ). obviously start at 6 intervals before moving up. this cardio should between 15-20 mins. hiit is the best to lose fat quickly. to push yourself even harder try find a place with hills but if not anywhere anytime outdoors is good also dont exceed 3-4 days a week because if you do it right you should be too tired to do it again the next day anyway. i advise something like mondays, wednesdays, fridays or something similar. the reason hiit is one of the best ways to lose excess fat is that not only are you burning calories when doing the workout you are also burning calories for the rest of the day to heal.

drinking cold water helps because it takes more calories to heat it up

You really shouldn't try to listen to all of our answers at once. if you want to lose the weight by april, you have to dedicate yourself to one routine every day and shut out everything anyone else tells you! otherwise you'll get diets mixed up and you won't lose any weight at all. i'm not saying to listen to ME, but do what feels best for your own lifestyle!

to lose 20 lbs in a month you must:
cut out all dairy, cheese, bread, and snack foods/junk
Food is the hardest part- try to keep yourself busy!
Eat hella veggies and fruits (i seriously have so many recipes if you're interested)
exercise in the morning and evening (for at least 30 mins)
DON'T LIFT WEIGHTS!! it will give you muscle and tone your body but you want to lose fat! do all cardio - biking, elypitcals, running, stair master, all that good stuff
enjoy yourself as you work out and imagine what you will look like skinny (it will never happen unless you believe in the image you have for yourself)
try not to smoke or drink (alcohol will make you fat as hell you miht as well wait and get extra shwasted on prom night! it will be your reward)

did this and lost 20 lbs

Almost always, the inability to lose weight is caused by excess intake of high glycemic carbohydrates. First of all- sugar in any form is the # 1 problem. Then other carbs like breads, rice, potatoes, and sweet fruits. There is nothing wrong with any of these foods, but it doesn't take very much to make you fat.

You can easily lose 20 pounds in 50 days. Cut out all sugar, avoid the carbs from the foods mentioned above, increase your protein and fat intake. Do this for 2 weeks. Your weight should begin to drop. Once your weight is going down, then slowly begin to cut back on the fats/meats and replace them with carbs-no sugar!. Go slow. Too much carbs and you will blow up like a balloon. Once you reach your desired weight- then try to balance out your diet. Rice, bread, and potatoes are fine- but go easy. If you begin to gain weight back- then reduce your carbs a little. If you are still losing weight- raise your carbs a little.
It should be a piece of cake........but don't eat it!
A little dessert is fine on occasion, but remember that body fat comes from sugar-not from fat you eat.

Yes. It is possible, but it will take much dedication and desire to achieve it. The trick is to not let doubt get you. You must ALWAYS focus on the end result, not on what you have to do to get there.

Do daily exercise (check out bodyrock.tv :)) .
Eat 5-6 small meals a day consisting of healthy lean meats like lean beef, chicken, or fish, lots of green veggies and fruits and a small amount of carbs like whole wheat bread as well as a small amount of healthy fats like that that comes from an avocado.

If you stick to this for 6 weeks or so, you will lose weight like you want- I promise!!!

Stick to it and know that it will happen. It has to. It's science. There is no possible way for you to stick to this plan and not lose weight.

GOODLUCK!

@Jase- that's not true ab an 1800 calorie diet. For women, the suggested dieting range for calorie intake is 1200 to 1500. You do not want to exceed 1500 calories a day when dieting though ideally, you want to cut it down to 1200. Obviously the less calories you consume, the faster you will lose weght.

No matter how you slice it, diet is a dirty word. It smacks of deprivation and hunger pangs. To overcome the pain, you need a plan.

So WebMD asked the experts for advice, and put together their quick tips on how to get your weight lossgoing.

1. Know Your Weight Loss Goals

2. Understand Your Weight Loss Personality

3. Double Up: Diet & Exercise

4. Make a Firm Weight Loss Commitment
Good Luck and Take care :-)
Finally, be sure you're committed to losing weight for yourself -- not because someone else is pressuring you to do so.

Then, take things slowly, keep these tips in mind, and you should be on the road to weight loss in no time.

No. Im just being real. i was at your spot 2 years ago when i was a senior and no you wont lose the 20 lbs. you can try. but the onyl way you can do it is drinking ONLY water no juice/soda and eat fruits salads and vegetables. THATS IT. nothing more. no eating after 9. no drinking alcohol. and top of that. you will need to exercise everyday for at lease 45 minutes. have the weekend off but STILL KEEP UO WITH THE DIET NO CHEATING. see. its really hard cause its basically a crash diet. sorry. just start now with less restrictions and lose 20 lbs by june :)

I don't think you could lose 20, maybe 10-15 if you stick to your diet/fitness plan. Either way 10-15 lbs will still make you look great. Don't do a really strict crash diet though, you will end up gaining all the weight back if you do! Good luck. =]

I really don't know if its completely possible!! But If you dedicate yourself completely and do lots of cardio and eat right you just might make it! But cardio is the Key and you really have to discipline yourself.
