How can I lose weight without starving myself?!

Question: How can I lose weight without starving myself?
I'm 14, 5,7" and 141 llbs
My mum says this is the normal weight for my height and age. But I want to lose weight in my stomach.
I'm not interested in being bone skinny, or sticking my finger down my throat or starving myself. I love food.
So how can I lose weight without starving myself, sticking a finger down my throat or giving up my best friend?

(Oh, and I don't want to lose it fast so people will start rumors of me being anorexic and whatnot)

Well that's easy, just exercise and eliminate any unnecessary junk that's in your diet. You'll probably want to take up pilates or yoga, these fitness types focus on buffing up the muscles in your stomach, and also some cardio workout (jogging, biking, etc) will help lose any unhealthy extra weight. Good luck :)

hey!
I'm in the same spot right now
what i would do if i were you since you already weigh a normal weight, and all you wanna do is tone,
start doing cardio a few times a week along with abdominal excercises. remember that cardio is what burns fat, not the excercises on their own, the exercises just build muscle, so start doing some cardio such as running, jogging, kickboxing or anything that gets your heart pumping.

good luck!! :D
you'll do great and look amazing as long as you keep it up!

The secret to losing weight is burning more calories by activity than you gain by eating - cardio is a great way to burn calories like running or jump rope - and of coarse there's the diet part but if you like food luke me, that parts hard but doable like snaking on apples or healthy stuff - or eat the doritos and just do another lap, remember burn more than you put in

No matter how you slice it, diet is a dirty word. It smacks of deprivation and hunger pangs. To overcome the pain, you need a plan.

So WebMD asked the experts for advice, and put together their quick tips on how to get your weight lossgoing.

1. Know Your Weight Loss Goals

2. Understand Your Weight Loss Personality

3. Double Up: Diet & Exercise

4. Make a Firm Weight Loss Commitment
Good Luck and Take care :-)
Finally, be sure you're committed to losing weight for yourself -- not because someone else is pressuring you to do so.

Then, take things slowly, keep these tips in mind, and you should be on the road to weight loss in no time.

your BMI is 14.7 where anything under 18.5 is underweight!

it's best to get 30 mins of excercise a day and eat more meals frequently, if u miss a main meal, your body will go into salvation mode so if u miss breakfast, the next meal will go on as fat. eat more often but small meals which will boost your metabolism rate.
eat healthy, fruit, vegetables, lean meat, wholemeal, try to stay away from anything in a packet even tho it says low fat which its not!

Honestly, that isn't the right weight. You are gonna need to diet, but NEVER starve. Try making healthy choices and eating all natural foods. No junk, no soda, and stay away from white things. Also exercise is going to be key. You can start out by just going for a couple mile walk and then move on to things like swimming, jogging, light weight lifting, etc. You should also tone up by doing core exercises such as planks. Good Luck!

really strongly recommend primal blueprint. wonderful "change of lifestyle" not diet... you eat as much as you want you just learn what is not good for you. not in the health aspect either (although that is amazing) you will naturally slim up and gain some muscle definition. Just start adding a little bit more exercise into your daily regimen. Do maybe 30 sit ups a day. Run every other day for 30 minutes.
Start eating healthier

You're only 14. No need to worry about your body appearance.

Cut your food proportions in half. Only eat half of what's on your plate or in your hand.
And with you being a young girl and probably active the weight should come off easily

do you really think that starving yourself is the only option? if you do then you are lazy

Fitness: Join a gym or go to your school gym (if you have a school gym). Do it twice a week, both for cardio training. But mix up the training. So treadmill, rowing machine on one day and bike and cross trainer on the other day. Could do low kg weight lifting for toned arms, like 1.2kg,2kg,4kg. Go swimming, walking, running, hiking and loose your weight before you start any core training. After two months of cardio training or whenever you have lost enough weight, and you can see a nice curvy or nice thin flat stomach. Start doing crunches, the plank and other abdominal workouts to tone up your body.

Dieting: Drink plenty of water and milk, eat fruits as snacks and instead of having three meals a day, have four. You need enough energy for your body to go on. So instead of starving yourself, simply eat healthier. Have three set meals a day, and add another one throughout your day like some fruit and a chicken roll with water or fruit juice.

It takes time to do this anyway so you wont become dead skinny and people wont think your anorexic. Besides there is healthy thin or anorexic thin people can generally tell the difference. So after your stomach is flat, do abdominal workouts to tone up then people will see you work out.

Fourteen year old male who has been studying fitness for two years and dieting for four months. Recently started The 7 Compound Exercise.

Good luck ;) x
