Question: I want to lose weight and most importantly, get fit...?
I'm 5'7" and 130-135 pounds. I wanna lose a few pounds but mostly get fit. I'm going to drink more water (I only have around a glass a week, no lie). I'm cutting my meals in half too and I'm going to have a more balanced diet. The problem is exercising. I don't have money to join a gym and it's winter so my mom won't let me go for a run I want to run but I'm being stopped. I'm going to do exercises that work upper and lower body every other day but cardio is left out! What could I do in my own home that's cardio when I can't go out and run and I don't have cardio machines?!

Kudos for aiming more for fitness than weight loss since you seem to already be at an ideal weight for your height.

You don't necessarily have to go running. Sure it's great exercise but there are others you can do at home. Jumping rope is great cardio and you can do that indoors for no money at all (you can even use an extension cord if you don't have a jump rope). Also, you can take your strength exercise and add jumps and pulses for added cardio For example, instead of doing regular lunges, you could do jump lunges. Running in place at a high pace also works great. Mountain climbers, burpees, all good. T-plank to push-up is one of my personal faves :o) Check you tube for videos to see how to do these exercises and you'll be all set.

I would suggest the Fat X Program from the Fat X 101 site. The fat burning workout videos are free and the diet is pretty simple and easy to follow. It's been helping me lose fat, inches, and I can tell my body is more way more toned. Good luck.
