Question: Is this ok to eat on a diet?
I wanna lose fat but I have seriously low budget like 5 bucks for every 3 days so I bought brown rice and a bag of frozen veggies like broccoli, bell peppers, and onion. I have been eating just brown rice and veggies every meal I dont put anything in it. I drink water but sometimes have diet pop. Is this gonna help me lose fat or what cause im thinking i might be eating to many carbs.

As long as you burn more calories than you eat, you will be fine : )
Sounds like a very healthy meal to me! Carbs are not the enemy, your body even needs a minimum of 120g a day! Just be careful on the diet pop, the sweeteners in it can trigger cravings for more sweets.

While brown rice is great for the fiber it provides, you don't want to eat it every day. Rice is rice and as a starchy food it does carry some sugar. Why not replace the rice with a protein? Your veggies with a delicious piece of backed fish or chicken breast will go a long way in filling your tummy while not being carb-heavy. Save a couple of those $5 bills and invest in a package of fresh chicken breasts or some salmon and chow down!!

The worst thing you can do is to limit your food intake that much. All you need to do is eat healthy foods that you enjoy there is a lot of ways to make chicken which is good for you. Just exercise with cardio and build more muscle.

Brown rice is better than white rice. It's good that you are eating lots of vegetables. If you eat this and drink only water, you should definitely lose weight.



As long as you are physically active, you can eat as many carbs as you want--and brown rice is one of the healthiest things you can eat. Think about getting some dried pinto or black beans in bulk (also very cheap) to round out the rice and get some protein. Rice and beans together is one of the most nutritionally sound foods to eat.

Next, do you have a farmers market near you? If you do, save some of that money and plan to get some fresh veggies or fruit. Often seasonal, local fruits and veggies are way cheaper at a farmers market and have much more nutritional value than frozen or canned veggies and fruits. I'd suggest at least getting some fresh garlic, onion and spinach for your meals.

Nothing is wrong with using a little salsa or soy sauce to flavor that rice. There is no fat in either of those and you need to have a little bit of salt. If you can, do without the soda and try tea or juice instead when you need a treat.

Also, try checking craigslist or with people you know, sometimes people have grown too much food in their gardens and give it away or sell it for cheap.

When you are eating like that on a low budget, you need to make sure you eat enough rather than losing weight--that will happen eventually if you get enough exercise. I lived off of brown rice and garlic for nearly three years because that's all I could afford. So you can survive.
