Question: Eating 500 calories a day?
How much weight could i lose in a month if i ate 500 calories a day?
Im 197lbs..and i will be taking a multi vitamin every day.
please dont tell me its unhealthy and all that

You would lose a considerable amount of weight and shed loads of pounds maybe around 5-10 pounds per week i don't know. But it'll only be temporary and won't last for long. Eating 500 calories a day will cause loss of muscle and maybe not fat, depending on the diet. Maybe Dieting would last longer.

For god sakes I hate people like you. It IS unhealthy you can't actually live like that without being very VERY ill.

Here's what you do, eat 1500 calories every day. This means that you will lose an average of 1 pound per week. Don't rush it, don't be an idiot. Just count the amount of calories in everything and burn off any you eat over 1500 through excersize.

It's not hard, I've lost 10 pounds already since the start of the year.

Don't be stupid just lose weight like everyone else or you WILL fail.

HP Resource is right. You aren't eating much, you will lose weight.
Congrats on the multi. It's pretty funny that you're willing to starve yourself but you're still going to take a multivitamin to stay "healthy." Let me know how you feel a month after you've stopped starving yourself and you've gained all of the weight back...and then some, because you've slowed your metabolism and still have no idea how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.



I can tell your in trouble which i respect, bit you must consider this. The body will go into a 'shock' system when you drop to 500 a day, you must eat more than that, lots of fruit and veg even they are expensive, no ready made fruit bars with hidden sugar. Our body's have NOT evolved enough from caveman times so you will make the body 'shock' and store all those foods/fats sugar which is opposite to what you want to do. Some of the rubbish on the www. never tells you that water is your friend, they always try to sell you something like a diet plan but never get to the bottom of the cause. Caveman times you may think? Well go back further than that from what we evolved from. Cut down on red meats, look at our closest cousins (monkeys) and see how strong and fit they are and ask yourself why?

500 calories is 1/3 of the minimum amount of calories that a person needs.
If you keep doing that, during the first week it might work, but then your metabolism is going to slow down and you are not going to lose not even a pound and to make it worse you'll get sick

I heard you lose weight faster if you do it by eating a lot of healthy foods, I've tried eating 500 calories a day and it just makes me irritable. It sucks to do it the longer way but you'll probably lose more in the long run because you'll stick with it.

Starving people tend to lose weight fast, yeah. What do you want from us? A pound is 3500 calories. If you eat 500 calories a day, and expend 1500-2000 calories a day to survive (average), then you'll lose 2-4 pounds a week



you will get quick results with 500 calories.. but soon after your metabolism will slow down, your body will not burn fat as well, your skin and hair will suffer... your immune system will go down, you will be very prone to getting ill...

You'll find it easier in the long run to loose weight via a healthy balanced diet and exercise, otherwise you'll yoyo.
